Okay so I've got my Skyrim collector's edition game and collectors edition strategy guide pre-ordered and paid in full. I've got my vacation from work already set in stone. I've got my Mother to watch my kids for 4 days of the week from the time they get out of school until my wife gets off of work. Everything seemed to be ready and falling into place just perfectly so that I would be able to delve into possibly the greatest game I will ever play.......until this morning....I decided to check the mail and what do I find..... a damn Juror Summons set for 11-7-11....By the nine can't I just for once catch a break!

anyone else getting shafted?

No. 11-11-11 is a Friday, a week after my first block of exams. That means I will get it in the morning or afternoon when I am done and play the game in a frenzy 'till Sunday or so. I am all set up for this game, it better not just disappoint me severely.

That's such commitment! Unlucky though! I'm coming home for uni that weekend anyway so will only get 2-3days playing time!
You could play the "I'm throwing up & diarrhoea card" I've used it before, no questions asked as its too awkward.

People ALWAYS are killing each other and setting fire to puppy orphanages this time of year and the part that steams me the most is they go and get caught!

24 will be put in a pool labeled A and B.
Half of them walkaway, and go home.

Just talk really loud when you are asked questions if you make it to selection.
I mean really loud, like unreasonably so.

You will then be thanked for your time, and sent on your way.

It's not hard to get out of it if you're willing to lie a little (nothing like fake medical excuses or anything verifiable though!). On your questionnaire just say you're racist or something, or you don't believe in laws. That's exactly what I did and guess what? I wasn't called in for further questioning. Take it seriously though, you have to seem like you're a real [censored].

I've been through this before. You'll probably have to sacrifice a day at most. They'll sit your butt down, explain the case to you and eventually they'll ask if for some reason you can't do the case based off the knowledge of it. Just say that you can't remain unbiased towards the accused for personal reasons. They won't allow you near that case.

I hope if you can't fin a way out of it, you act mith responsability as other persons future may depend on it.

Oh, and think also in your own future. Depending on your strategy to solve this you could have future administrative problems.

Remember, a game is only a game and you won't regreet for all your life playing it some days later.

It could be worst. You could be the suspect and not just a juror. That would be harder to go around it

Although in such case, you could plead guilty to be quickly placed in jail and have all time to play Skyrim in your cell.

I took the day off as well - was planning to go hiking the morning of the 11th, then swing by Gamestop on the way home. Then the other day my wife tells me the kids don't have school the 10th and 11th.

Kind of funny, but it's not a big deal to be honest. My 9-year old will want to watch me play, which is fine.
