Is making an NPC read a book as simple as linking an NPCs reference to a book, or does it require something more than that? Also how do you make two NPCs fake they're fighting each other?

Say I wanted some NPCs to just endlessly do these things 24/7. Or do these things all require scripts? If so does anyone have scripts to make NPCs do these actions forever? If anyone has any answers I'd really appreciate the help as always.
