CK Script Problems

Post » Thu Apr 02, 2015 2:41 am

Hi, it's me again. So I was tryin

g to build a smell dialogue based on an NPC stop attacking at a certain HP degree; however, I seem to be getting a SKI file error when trying to start up a newscript, stating that it's missing. Then states when I try making a new script that the script I'm trying to invent doesn't exist, and to find one that does.

So I figured okay, maybe creating a dialogue and writing out a script from there helps. That said and done, still have the same error. What's worse is that after trying to compile, I get this message whether it be with ReferenceAlias or AKSpeaker.

Starting 1 compile threads for 1 files...Compiling "TIF__070BD915"...(0,0): Unable to find flags file: TESV_Papyrus_Flags.flgF:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\Scripts\Source\temp\TIF__070BD915.psc(3,0): Unknown user flag HiddenNo output generated for TIF__070BD915, compilation failed.Batch compile of 1 files finished. 0 succeeded, 1 failed.Failed on TIF__070BD915

Any case, is it because I'm missing a file in the CK? What should I do?

Probably because Steam updated your Creation Kit.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1515697-ck-updated-and-near-to-10000-scripts-files-are-gone/ - hope that helps.

After reading through this, I'm not entirely sure what I'm trying to understand from the read.

One poster mention an rar.archive, but I don't have one? another mention to simply copy the source folder and all it's files, then revert them back onto that source folder to overwrite them all.

yes, ran into the same error yesterday (thx again 2 cdcooley for wallsaving :-)

there'll be a scripts.rar in your game's data-dir. unpacking that in place fixes that.

it's not in your scripts folder, it's in your data folder

It should be in there. Have you tried validating your cache?

is your file manager set to show hidden, read only etc files? (not sure if the rar is though, just in case)

Scripts.rar is not hidden, but does contain up to date versions of all the base and DLC source scripts, and DialogueViews.
DLC scripts are in subfolders off the source folder, which holds the skyrim base game psc files.

Apologies for late response. Have been busy with school.

Anyway, to answer the file manager question, I'm unsure. It shouldn't be though.

I know one mentioned a Game verification run through on the system. Was I suppose to do that on the CK or on the game mainly? Just curious.

And the error is still currently there and I can still not locate these scattered files that I read through on that link. It feels like the CK is useless now when it comes to scripting quests, actions, etc. now. :/

Update: I just checked the properties on the Data file and it shows Read Only. Hidden isn't checked

I glanced at what Michele suggested me, but I'm still in the same hole. The only source folder I know of is under scripts from off the data folder. When I go off of source from there, I find only a temp folder and that's it. Unless I'm looking in the wrong area, I'm not sure where else to look at. And I know that the mod folders won't contain the main data.

Game Library > Steam > Steam Apps > Common > Skyrim >Data. That's what I've been doing

Have you tried doing a file search for "Scripts.rar" in your Skyrim directory?

If you're letting Windows hide known file extensions (like it wants to by default) you may just see a file named Scripts in your Skyrim/Data folder. And it probably has a folder icon so you might be overlooking it by thinking it's the Scripts folder instead of a Scripts file. Confusing isn't it. If I'm right, blame Microsoft for deciding to hide useful information and then right-click on the file and extract the contents.

Aurawhisperer, did you at least update the CK? Right clicking on the CreationKit.exe should show version 1.9.35, after being updated. If you didn't, verifying the integrity of the creation kit cache should make it, and you should find an archive named "Scripts.rar" in your data folder. (I hope you're using a third party archive opener, like 7-zip, so that they don't look like Windows ordinary folders...)

I first installed the CK in 2013. I did it again at the beginning of this month. Two things struck me as odd: One, I remember very distinctively the download completely halted several times after 21MB. To the point where I had to pause and restart it in order to continue. And two, I didn't have the file TESV_Papyrus_Flags.flg either.

During my recent install, the halting started at that exact point, after downloading 21MB. And the flags file was missing as well. If find this very disconcerting, specially since I live in a different city now, with a different ISP.

In any case, I googled the name and found the file online. Apparently a few people have that problem. Here is the file, paste it on a text document and name it: TESV_Papyrus_Flags. Remember to change the extension from .txt or whatever to .flg and place it in you Data/Scripts/Source folder

/*    Format is as follows (whitespace is completely ignored, index must be between 0 and 31 inclusive):        Flag          // flag is allowed on all types    or:        Flag   {  }    // flag is allowed only on the specified types*/// List of flags for TESV - DO NOT EDIT// Flag hides the script or property from the game editorFlag Hidden 0{    Script    Property}// Flag on an object designates it as the script the condition system will look at// Flag on a variable allows the script variable to be examined by the condition systemFlag Conditional 1{    Script    Variable}

Don't know why I'm not able to copy/paste links onto here anymore .-. Anyway, is that what I'm looking for? To the poster that asked me the question on using the search

It worked!

Apologies for the frustration xD read through this earlier to see if I found a hint. I fount the file and extract it exactly onto the data domain where it should, and now I can get back to scripting again. Thanks again!
