Scrolls of Duty?

So due to the extreme simplifications that gamedevs are doing those days , the good rpg games have suffered from the COD syndrome , the "streamlining" ....

Look at Dragonage 2 , it moved from a good rpg system to a totally different consolle hack and slash type of game with almoust no rpg elements , not much customization and basically moved to a button pusher consolle player friendly type....

Now Skyrim is gorgeous to see , lot of nice add ons like perks , crafting and especially the art direction is excellent , but it suffers from the same syndrome altough in a lesser way ..... this is due to the consolle mentality? Or just a wrong perspective over the players that actually like the rpg kind of games?

OR is just a way to try to appeal the most possible kind of players , including COD lovers? making it simple , enter , and shoot , press the button kill the enemy complete the quest?

All of the dungeons are surely different and more nice than the previous titles as all seem to be hand crafted with a purpouse and logic in mind but , they are too streamlined ....
you enter , face a bunch of monsters , reach the local boss , defeat , find the chest collect the loot and quest finished ....

removing things like attributes, skills , complexity in favour of a simple system of 3 only elements magic heath and stamina is way too much , next time they can even reduce to health and magic ... then make a shooter....

Boring! easy streamlined

They try to make the game more approachable by as many people as possible....as the more players the bigger the profit.

Its just a fact, its too risky to make a complex game now as an AAA title, cause if it flops because only fans play it then its a disaster.....great game...but financial ruin.

majority of morrowinds and oblivions skills and spells were useless and annoying to begin with, and the way the stats worked was borderline [censored]. athletics? i get points for RUNNING? lets be real here. is it oversimplified with just being able to pick mana, stam, or health? maybe, but the perk trees make up for it.

the only cool thing i miss was your astrological sign, but thats been imbedded in the game in the form of buffs.

I really don't miss the attribute system. I like the fact that I actually have to practice something to get good at it and not be pre-born to be perfect at something.

The so called "COD lovers" are surely busy playing MW3 right now. Anyway, there are already other threads about lack of content of streamlining already, use those instead.
