Sea Monsters?

Well, looking towards Redguard, the Imperial Library mentions the skeleton of a sea-serpent, and some sort of tentacle that kills you instantly.

Thanks again for all the replies, I think I've got a couple of ideas and scenarios that I could incorporate a Sea Serpent in. And like was said above, it is Fantasy, and they do have GIANT sea monsters, so I'll do it ;) Thanks again everyone.

I'm pretty sure weresharks are just a rumor.

When you're out swimming in the Sea of Ghosts and you're the victim of a wereshark attack, you'll think differently.

"The seventh lycanthrope, which I have never seen but my trusted peers have assured me exists, is a wereshark that roams the oceans around Tamriel."

"Just note that there are so many Lycanthrope types, but so far we can only record two, the Werewolf and the Wereboar. The rest of the Lycanthropy, well, cannot be found in any other literatures or reports. Even some folks regard this information as jokes, especially that Wereshark."

I highly doubt they will ever make a wereshark lol.

But not for very long...

I think weresharks are supposed to be Hawaian mythology. I read about them in Fires of Eden by Dan Simmons and Galilee by Clive barker.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but in Redguard if you swim too far into the Abecean Sea, you are mysteriously consumed by either some shark-like creatures (you only see the dorsal fin) or a set of mysteirous tentacles.

Does the little illustration of a Levethian on the map of the Iliac Bay in Daggerfall have any credible meaning?

Heh, I remember trying to swim there to see if there was a giant sea monster in the Iliac Bay. :P

Obviously Weresharks.

The Old God the Deep Ones serve...

Yeah I know..hardly original, but not every god in Bethesda's mythos necessarily has to be Aedric or Daedric. Remember that. Lore allows wiggle room.

itd be nice to have an epic battle with a friggin kraken. i always loved to fight giant squid like creatures in my game. like fable's kraken. but howd it end up in a sewer?... krakens attack pirate ships often, according to pirate tales. it wouldn kill the lore to have a giant squid creature, besides, morrowind and oblivion need challenges, its just too easy playing the game. even without cheats/glitched or hacks/mods. I'd love to see a giant sea monster, that could kill you in one hit. it'd give me something to look forward to. Morrowind and Oblivion have almost no background of the sea, because you cant swim out to deep sea. but, if there were any sea creatures, krakens, those dinosaur things (plesiasaurs? idk what theyre called..NESSIE!) or just snakes the size of the horizon, we will never know, unless bethesda is like, "hey! sea creature -HERE-" giant slaughterfish = fail. not considered a sea monster at the size it is. weresharks = what? we have no idea what they look like, half-dog, half-shark? that'd be more of a laugh than an "oh sh**, SWIM!!!" Kraken + Gigantic-size-of-10 football fields-monster = pwned. a common pirate enemy, and fear. like pirates of the carribean, at worlds end. That kraken was cool. But hey, this isnt my mod, so whatever you thinks cool. I'm just suggesting something like that, based on stories, actual accounts, and pirate tales.

Actually, in Morrowind you could go as far out to sea as you liked. It was just a large, boring wasteland with nothing in it.

I would love to see some kind of sea monster in TES. Imagine the hunting! A carnivirous whale type creature, or a giant squid, or a nessie would be great. I don't think they should be too large, though. If we're talking about in-game, it could get really awkward.

I think Weresharks could exist. If Hircine wants to create a wereshark, he can. It's not hard for a Daedric Lord to create a disease. Imagine the hunt factor? Hunting as an amazing shark creature by night, and waking up in the middle of the sea where there's likely large sea creatures to kill you. Being hunted by day by men and mer if you ever manage to get back to land alive. Hmm... This seems even greater than werewolves!

There are actual real, honest to goodness monsters in the Elder Scrolls universe. We just haven't seen them yet, which is all the more evidence they exist.

Any type you can think of really.

Kraken, Sea Serpent, Mecha Steissand, Weresharks. I know this because a Khajiit outside of Anvil told me. He was wearing a grey hooded robe. He knows much, tells some. He told me he knew of the exact whereabouts of a codex not only with a list of every type of monster in existence but also their stats and biography, including monsters from the unreleased game World of Scrollcraft - the Search for more Money.

Slamdunk for a Spaceballs reference WoW rip and M'aiq quote all in one.

There was a creature called a sea drake in The Infernal City off the coast of Black Marsh it "looked a crocodile, but with paddles instead of legs".

There's some kind of sea predator that was featured in the infernal city, but the name escapes me.

There are werebears (most common lycan in Skyrim), werecrocodiles in Black Marsh, werelions in Elswyer (could also have been mistaken as Khajiit), werevultures in Valenwood, and, of course, the rumored wereshark. On a note, the werewolf is supposed to be everywhere, but were sadly not included in Oblivion.

As Luagar stated on the first page, there are indeed Sea Serpents around Pyandonea. The Maormer have tamed some of them.

So I would assume they are in most parts of deep ocean.
