No thanks. As epic as it would be, I would like to play a whole time through without an NPC insulting my mother. lol

Well his voice was great on the death screen of India Jones' Greatest Adventure for the snes..."I've lost him"

I think they could at least make it work for a death screen in Skyrim ;)

I think it would be cool to at least have one char that sounded like him......if not him then something close. for example say if at the beginning of the game you get saved by the one guy from prison and perhaps a dragon attacks there...you here some random old nord guy scream something and jump at the dragon with his battle axe shouting some curse at the beast...that would be cool and wouldnt take up a huge portion of the game...I dont see why people hate on connory...I would like him/sound alike to play a role in the game

Don't know why people think if you have celebrity voice actors you must have lesser voices overall. Why can't we have both?

I mean, Dragon Age and Mass Effect both had a lot of voice actors and there were several celebrities amongst them.

Because Bethesda only has so much money available to spend on the game's creation.

The choice with the available investment money would be to either spend lots of money on one celebrity voice with the leftovers on the other voice actors, or to have all that money going towards having more "lesser known" voice actors. With only so much money to invest in the game, Bethesda probably can't have both.

The same voice for {
Male dark elf, high elf, & wood elf;
Female dark elf, high elf, & wood elf;
Male orc & nord;
Female orc & nord;
Male Khajit & argonian;
Female Khajit & argonian;
Female Shrine #1, #2, & #3;
Male Shrine #1, #2, & #3;
etc etc etc} was dissappointing. The only variety pretty much was when ya talk to Martin or a beggar..... Sounded like Female Imperial and Breton had same voice, too, but not certain...

I am a big fan of Patrick Stewart, Jean Luc Picard, Xavier, but I would rather have had Bethesda left him out, and instead used the money they paid him to hire more "unknowns' for more of a variety of voices.

I hold this type of opinion for Skyrim.

I think this is more the case for Oblivion, as they weren't that famous before that, and simply didn't have as much money as they do now.
Oblivion made gamesas famous (among the general public), and brought in A LOT more cash than Morrowind did, and then Fallout 3, which also brought in more money.
So, I think we can be certain that they have a lot more money to spend on Skyrim than they had on Oblivion. (I think they have said so in a Podcast as well.)

And we already have Max Von Sydow, so that's one famous actor! :)

Well, I'm mostly in the "don't need more celebrity voice actors" camp. On the other hand, if they do something like Martin in Oblivion, not only voiced by Sean Bean but looking quite a lot like him as well... *fans self* Erm, excuse me for a moment... :wub:

...Okay, seriously, no need for Sean Connery. In fact, it can get a bit distracting (for different reasons from the above, of course) to have someone so obviously recognisable as a famous person doing the voice acting. I want to be able to say, "Oh, hey, that's a male Imperial voice" rather than "Oh, hey, that's Patrick Stewart's voice", for instance. In fact, numbers don't even come into it (just get Wes Johnson to do all the voices, he certainly has the range for it :P ), though having them because the budget now allows for it is nice too.

No..not really..
We don't need epic voice actors. Give me one for each gender/race and I'll be happy. I couldn't care less how much money Bethesda spent to get "insert amazing voice actor/actress here", I'd instead care about having a different voice actor for each race instead of the 4 in Oblivion for 10 races.

Two for each gender/race (or two for the more common races at least) would be even better. :)

....honestly, I didn't even realize Liam Neeson did "Dad" in Fallout 3 until I read about it later. Didn't even get a "hmm, where've I heard that voice before"... (I did get that with President Eden, but I still didn't recognize who it was.) Patrick Stewart was pretty obvious in Oblivion, though.

I rather agree. Although I hope we see some of the old voice actors reprising their roles like Wes Johnson and Linda Kenyon, as it wouldn't be the same without them.

I am half tempted by the silliness of having all the voices done by people called Sean and Sian (e.g. Connery, Bean, Penn etc). Because I find really pointless things like that rather entertaining. :hehe:

Edit: grammar svckage

I would pay for that DLC. No, seriously. A Jerry Seinfeld NPC in my Skyrim. Heck yes!

We get one famous voice actor per game. This game is Max Von Sydow. Though Sean Connery would be freaking awesome.

There were at least three A-list types in Oblivion. Though quite unnecessary, IMHO.

But Draco was a nice dragon. He wouldn't fit into Skyrim very well.

Doesn't one of the Dragon Shouts allow the player to summon a dragon... hmm, surely the player wouldn't summon a dragon aggressive against themselves now.

Morgan Freeman. Even better voice actor. Although that'd be quite ridiculous.
