In search of Morrowind!

So I'm on Spring Break this week, and I'm not going anywhere, and I've got nothing to do. Today I decided to see if Morrowind was at all visible from Skyrim, and how much you could see. I found some pretty interesting stuff while messing around in the Velothi Mountains. I took some pictures, and I wanted to share that adventure with you (please note that I am on a PS3 so I can't take screenshots, so some of these don't look very good).

So first, I came across Mzulft, and I could see high above it, a large tower. Now I have finished the quest for the College of Winterhold where you go to Mzulft, so I was familiar with this ruin, but I had forgotten what that tower was.

I climbed all the way up this rocky hill, and I found the tower to be Mzulft Aedrome. I was determined to climb to the top of the large tower.

Once I got to the top (after MUCH struggle) the view that welcomed me was breathtaking, even for a video game.

There were many weird circular things on the roof. One in the very http://i.imgur.com/iqdLQb3.jpg and others on the http://i.imgur.com/x1smhcm.jpg They no doubt coordinate with the puzzle inside of the Aedrome.

Here's the view http://i.imgur.com/SqjKXve.jpg

And http://i.imgur.com/UeDgvH6.jpg

And when I turned and looked http://i.imgur.com/DItvHgy.jpg, I was determined to climb that too. I was unsure as to how far East I could go, as I had already hit the edge farther North where my journey initially began, at Refugee's Rest.

I climbed the hill somewhat with ease. But jump in the wrong direction led me to an amazing discovery.

http://i.imgur.com/Mhv9N13.jpg pass was my discovery, and I was full of hope upon its discovery. Here's http://i.imgur.com/CxGKMVh.jpg view.

Surprisingly, I could go all the way to the end of the pass. I climbed the hill on the right-ish side of the pass, and I came across yet another pass, with the view I was looking for.

There were many clouds blocking my http://i.imgur.com/phBY0Id.jpg, but getting into a better position, I could see a http://i.imgur.com/lX8eFZM.jpg?1.

I am convinced that the mountain in the photo is indeed the Red Mountain, but the fact that there is no ash coming out of it makes me skeptical. It is very well possible that it is some random mountain south of Blacklight.

So do you think it is Red Mountain? Or some other mountain that is of no significance? Discuss.

Also, if you are wanting to look for this pass where I saw the mountain, it is next to http://i.imgur.com/KpBL3dq.jpg.

as far as i know is the fact that the red mountain emits smoke only when viewed from Solstheim, as that "feature" was only added through the DLC and it does not affect the base game's "view" ...so yeah its possible thats the red mountain you saw there
