Season Pass costs now more than base game

Agreed, as soon as they told us what the dlc would be, and that it would be going up in price. Jumped right on it

*shakes head* LOL *cracks knuckles* here comes a logic bomb.

*ahem* lets say 100 people worked on Fallout 4. That's about how many folks worked on Skyrim and its comparable so lets just use that as a base, capice?

100 people worked on Fallout 4, for 7 years.

52 weeks x 7 years = 364 weeks.

364 weeks x 40 hours a week work = 14,650 hours

14,650 hours of work x $40 an hour = $586,000

$586,000 x 100 employees FIFTY EIGHT MILLION SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS TO MAKE FALLOUT 4.

Plus, other costs. Overtime, paid vacation time, any raises anyone has, studio costs, recording, audio mixing, hiring voice actors, etc.

Take a walk, chump.

12 million copies selling for over 750 million dollars at launch. So let's add in your 58 million and toss in say another 20 for OT and paid vacation etc, so we're sitting at 78 million cost. So on the launch profits alone we're talking over 600 million dollars. You're talking about labor costs on a game that is going to approach nearly 1 billion dollars in sales when it's all said and done. Maybe do a little more research before you feel the need to act like the big shot lol.

This.

And the thing I particularly like is how it adds passive content to the base game.

Whilst I've finished the DLC, I can continue to explore the wasteland with my best new bot bud: Bett-E...

(And a Gatling Laser, Flame Thrower and two missile launchers goes a long way. Awesome...)

And to add a little more for you to chew on. The game made over 180 million dollars on day ONE.

$40/hr is a huge assumption and incorrect at that. Average salary for a bethesda softworks employee (it is public record) is $67k. That's AVERAGE. So you're got the big guys making considerably more and people making a decent amount less. Still falls severly short of your $83k estimate.

"logic bomb".... can't google lol gtfo

I have never been disappointed with Bethesda's season pass for the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series. While some of the content has been weak, in the end they produce a great product. Dont rate the value of a season pass on one DLC alone.

Ever play Destiny? Bungies season pass was a joke.

I don't hate the DLC. I'm just very underwhelmed and disappointed by it. I like creating and modding the bots then sending them out on supply lines. There is still potential for Automatron to play a larger role in future DLC's. It DID change the core mechanics by giving us the ability to create allies and utilize them in settlements. I've purchased all of Bethesda's DLC's for ES and Fallout before, and will continue to do so in the future. But I'm not the type of person to blindly say it's amazing when it's not in my opinion.

This is the first season pass I've ever bought but I have gotten goty releases for 3/NV. While I've been disappointed in some previous Fallout DLC, overall I know that it's worth the price for season pass (pre increase). Everyone had the option to buy the season pass. If you complain that any of the DLC isn't "worth" what you think it is because you're going off the ala carte price, that's your fault. Far Harbour is $25... that was $5 away from the seaon pass to include $60+ worth of content.

Hey man...I can see you're passionate and that's cool. I am too! But lets do a rundown on your comments.

Okay, lets say that Bethesda made 750 million dollars on a game it took them 58-65 million dollars to produce, right?

So they're what? 680 in the black? Pretty good right?

So they make Fallout Shelter.

They open another studio.

They employ more game developers.

They create more games.

Fallout 5 happens.

Fallout 6 happens.

So what's the problem? The game devs aren't there to give hugs and sunshine rainbows brother man....they're there to make money on their IP.

Plus, how much did they pay for the Fallout IP? Lets say 50 million dollars. They should have EASILY recouped that with Fallout 3, DLC & Fallout New Vegas and DLC right?

Skyrim made money. Dishonored made money. See where I am going? This is a game studio. My point (originally) is that it costs a lot of money for things such as Fallout to exist and complaining about a $10 DLC is ridiculous.

Its extra stuff that originally wasn't there. You'd waddle your presumably fat behind to Taco Bell and pay $10 for a meal right? That winds up in a belly ache, bad gas and ultimately the toilet.

But someone complains about a permanently playable/usable $10 DLC? Its bs dude. Its entitlement. Its folks acting like babies. In fact, the entire reason you started this debate with me, aside from the fact you're passionate (which I give a thumbs up) is because you wanted to defend the OP and their upsettedness (not a real word lol) over how much the DLC costs.

Because why? So you could say you had your debate for the day? I say we agree to disagree and leave it at that since we both make valid points and neither of us will budge.

I'll never understand why people cry about DLC pricing. It's DLC. You don't need it to enjoy a game but it is available should you want to expand on it. You seriously think Automatron, Far Harbor and Wasteland Workshop are little content for $50? Oh, you must be validating your claim based on what is downloadable right now. Keep in mind that although MOST of us were smart enough to buy the season pass before the price went up and although Automatron is all we have at the moment, we still have Far Harbor coming in April which will bring us to Maine with new enemies, armor, weapons, settlements etc etc. Wasteland Workshop will bring new settlement stuff to use like the arena, traps and such. This doesn't even include the other DLC coming ALL YEAR LONG like (hopefully) console on console and whatever else Bethesda adds. Bethesda is listening to us so if we clamor for a bunch of stuff, we'll likely see some of it at some point.

As others have stated, $60 is higher than $50. You can't say the DLC costs more because it doesn't. The game is on sale everywhere but the base price for it is $60. Stop whining, grow up and don't buy the DLC if that's how you feel.

And that is a completely fair point. I don't regret for a second getting my season pass. All in all Bethesda has done a very good job over the life of their games in regards to DLC. I'm being vocal about the amount of content in regards to the ala carte price. THAT I feel is cash grabby.

Granted, for me and most of you, it's a moot point since we have the pass.

the QQ from the same ppl from the time when they game release is becoming phatethic.

Everyone knew what the DLC involve, bc Bethesda actually said it early like 2 months ago. And why u buy something when u knew u wont like it?????

10$ for Automatron is a fair price. No meter what u compare it with. Or wait lets compare it.

i paid 15$ for 1 companions on ME 3. I paid 10$ for a stupid new map on WItcher 3 where i didnt get anything new to the main game (and a quest with 0 relation with the MQ).

Prices are just that prices. If u think is to much u dont paid it. Worst part is the ppl that QQ about the price is the same ppl that is the first in the line to buy anything.

It's like you're reading your own thread off in your own little world somewhere. I didn't start a debate with you. Not at all. I never spoke to you before you decided to start tossing out insults. Much like your quoted post here. I don't need to debate you. I simply responded with numbers. Which apparently you were expecting a "no ur dum!" response from me. My posts were backed with facts. Yours, by insults and backpedaling. But good job showing this chump up man. You sure put me in my place lol.

I don't think anyone is really complaining about the value of Automatron as part of the season pass. The issue comes from the ala carte price that people don't feel it's worth it to them. But the best part about that is.... they don't HAVE to get it. This is why I feel the argument is ridiculous.

If you didn't buy the season pass you already knew there might be some content you wouldn't like. Why rush and buy it day one without looking into it? At that poaint you're just paying more for the season pass indirectly by not waiting. If you do that for all the DLC, guess what, you just spent $60+ for something that cost $30.

BTW this was in no way directed at you, I just felt be had a mutual agreement on that part haha

So let me get this straight so you and I are clear moving forward. You make a post to dude bashing him because he couldn't make a rational argument without emotive language. Then when someone provides you said rational argument without emotive language, you feel attacked? Oooooooookay.

Yes and if one of you goofs did get the season pass you should have just not bought it lol. Am I right guys? :foodndrink: Either way someone we perceive as hateful due to our own idiotic misinterpretation of their opinionated comments that lack the conformity that we desire is a fool and should stop playing bethesda's games and stop giving their opinion here on these forums ever again because we (including todd howard our bff) don't like it ok!!! :brokencomputer:

If you call responding and posting an opinion spam, sure ok. You pointedly referred to me attacking people with my opinions. At no point in any of my posts have I made any personal attacks or slighted anyone for their opinions. On the contrary, I've been insulted a couple times now, which includes you. Yet I'm not running to mods or crying in the threads.
