Hah. Just checked the price on Steam, and its 40 of my northern loonies for this season pass.
Im not really mad, but now I know what the people buying Steam games in euros and pounds feel. It was 70 for Fallout 4 itself aswell.

I don't even see the big deal if it were cut content. A little cut content from a game that's already guaranteed to be a huge open world full of content is quite a bit different than, say, three maps cut from a multiplayer shooter that only had six maps to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I'm firmly against cutting content from the base game in order to repackage it as DLC, but considering we're getting a full-on Fallout game for our $60 and not a 10-hour game with $60 worth of DLC made available, I don't see the logic in feeling ripped off.
I skipped Hearthfire and never had problems with Skyrim mods. If BGS releases settlement-related DLC, I reckon they won't be required by most mods either. If a must-have addon requires a certain DLC, then I'll consider buying it if I don't already have it, but I reckon that by the time such a worthwhile mod is released, the special edition will be available. This is a good thing if the DLC are anything like FO3's (which I didn't care for, at all, and skipped until the GOTY edition). Then it's a matter of simply waiting for a sale.
If you've enjoyed every single DLC that BGS has ever released, then sure, I guess it's worth the gamble. Although there is still that little problem of the game not even being fricking out yet. The game engine could be a total dog on PC for all we know.
Let's start a rumor that season passes are selling out..
Ha, dont give them ideas. I can easily imagine a publisher doing it. Buy your season pass now, and get a discount! Limited quantity order now!
I see no reason to buy the season pass now. I'll probably buy it if the first DLC is something that I find interesting. After all the Season Pass isn't going anywhere.
I won't be buying the season pass for a while, I want to see the DLCs first. I loved shivering Isles, Hearthfire and Dragonborn, but Fallout 3's DLCs were rather meh to me. Play a linear COD shooter that somehow unlocks an armoury. Point Lookout had a neat premise but was short and dr whatshisname never gave me any reason to join him, it seemed rather rushed. Broken Steel removed the only meaningful choice in the game. MZ... We don't talk about MZ.
I'm sure bethesda will do better this time round, but I'm going to wait and see first
Ha. I don't think these ideas would be surprises for other game publishers, e.g.
Other games releasing in the next month are doing things just like this.
Thanks Bethesda for not doing this
I know I'll inevitably get the Season Pass. But even I can't justify buying it when the release of the base game is still over a months away. (Whaaat?)
Ill be buying all the DLC anyway. Both for the content and for the Mod Requirements. Im just slightly miffed we dont get anything for pre-ordering digitally and that there is no "Online collectors Pack". Oh well. The Modders will provide.
No.
(That said, I haven't pre-ordered FO4 yet. But I will, if only to guarantee that my doesn't-stock-PC-games Gamestop has a PC copy for me. edit: and a perk poster)
I have purchased all Fallout products on day 1 because of loyalty. Bethesda makes a great product (even if sometimes broken)! Their games are still the most enjoyable in all my video gaming experience!
Or I wait a bit and get it even cheaper. That's if I actually want all of them,I certainly wouldn't pay for something like Mothership Zeta or Operation: Anchorage.
Due to low value on NOK I paid like USD 34 on Steam just now. I have bought every DLC for Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, so I cannot see any reason to skip this.
Cosmetic DLC that offers a "tactical advantage", but no, the gaming community doesn't have any issues it needs to work out. Bah.
Besides, with the way Bethesda supports modding (and giving PC players access to the consoles), they couldn't get away with half of that crap. New weapon and armor packs are one thing, since modders rarely match Bethesda's talents for artwork, but would anybody buy a "lunchbox pack" for Fallout 4 that instantly gives them rare items or XP... when they could literally use console commands or get a cheat mod to do the same thing?
No. I preordered both a physical and a digital copy, and will preorder the DLC as well. You're welcome.
