5 seconds of Skyrim footage - leaked Demo

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:24 am

Because as was said in the articles, the dungeon has diversity within the dungeon, like one part will be inside and then another will be out on a cliff edge and that one obviously is a chamber with no roof.

Can we jump into a dungeon?

Can we jump into a dungeon?

To make sure there aren't any issues with cell loading, chances are the "openings" would be in remote parts of the mountains which can't be reached on foot. And there won't be a way to jump through the opening up to the surface. Unless they add Levitation and then they'd probably use an invisible barrier.

Iono if you can jump in the dungeon or not. I'm sure if someone mods in levitation and flies up the mountain to the cliff edge part of the dungeon but to go to the inside parts of the dungeon, you will probably have to go through the door. However, it's all but confirmed that cities are open so how far that goes into other parts of the game we don't know.

The internet, where only a 5 second clip of a blurry and cut up image taken from a phone is mercilessly dissected by ravenous fans hungry for any morsel of information.

Yes...I wonder if there'll be consequences...

Meanwhile, Pete Hine has twitted:

- in that quest in the skyrim previews would it have been possible to negotiate or pay for the return of the dragon claw? or was killing the NPCs the only option, and if it was is the typical of the quest design in the rest of the game. ps I bet none of the 'professional' journalists have ever bothered asking this question have they?

- yes, they did. Quests will have a variety of ways to solve. That one is designed to run you thru the dungeon

- When EXACTLY are Skyrim fans going to see an in-game footage (someone actually playing the game) video?

- probably E3

It's interesting, but really not exciting at all. It's barely 5 secs of a moving image. It's the first look at snow, which is great. Other than that, nothing that would make me go "OMG THATS NEW". I've seen loads in the [amazing and nerdgasmic] official trailer.

It won't work without a grand soul gem.

Right, because everyone starts a new thread right away instead of waiting for the mods to locked the previous one.

duh, everyone knows the limit, so when the thread is doomed you move on to a new one, who really sits in a doomed to be locked in mins. thread?

I think the gameplay looked great, and the coffin busting open with a fluid forceful motion and no lag or FR issues was something new to TES and was impressive to just think with that kind of game mechanic what they could apply that to in other parts of the game world (oblivion has sad attempts at such things but were always glitchy, slow and un entertaining and few and far between) the snow looked great looked good (at first i thought was a dust and dirt particle effect but the stills make it seem like snow) i just wanna at least see that whole 1 hour demo.

Just for the record everyone, this is not the first glimpse of snow in motion as the trailer had two scenes in the woods with snow floating about. See it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSVMWzysCqo in splendorous slideshow slomo.

By the small snippet of footage, I'm extremely liking the minimalistic heads up display, to me it will make things like great vistas of Skyrim seem that bit more breath-taking.

Well it's the first time we got to see it it with depth and great LOD. The one in the trailer looked odd, I'm not sure what it was but the difference in how they look is worlds apart between the two.

5 seconds of leaked footage that's not a lot of time. I can just imagine the reaction this forum would have if it was 5 minutes or the whole demo itself.

I do agree the impact difference is considerable. I'll chalk it up to the lighting and slower character movement in the demo.

My biggest thing is the snow falling through the ceiling, is that enough to assume that dungeons are not separate cells from the outside terrain?

Yeah, I went back over the trailer and I think it was the speed that the camera panned.

It's centered at the top of the screen.
