5 seconds of Skyrim footage

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:07 am

The snow is so damn awesome when it's not locked to the viewspace. I love how people said that it was impossible to have it in the game space and then said it was impossible to have it build up on objects, both of which were confirmed 100% this week.

Chopped and slowed to 1/8 speed but not looped.

Might be a few minutes before it goes live and a few minutes more before the full 720 version is available

You are awesome, thanks so much!

Nice! You can totally see something with a wicked looking spine creep out of that coffin at the end!

Like I said, that is the skeletal priest that they had to fight in the demo.

I noticed that as well. Absolutely awesome looking. The level of detail on it is quite good.

Load up Oblivion and go up and look at the rain or the snow and as you turn you camera view you will notice it follows you.

First we obsess over low resolution secret concept art for five threads.

Then more and more trailer picture anolysis threads pop up.

Now we're staring at a low res 3 second clip of demo gameplay slowed down to 1/8th the normal speed.

It's obvious we're starving for information. Give us more Beth!

Yeah. I don't know whether we are pathetic or just desperate.

It's ok, any footage released publicly by any official media source is fair game.

Take a look at the snow in the gameplay, it's in the actual world space, you can see it actually has depth like real life. If you look at an Oblivion, you will see it in the viewspace (which is what everyone does) where it is locked to your view, so no matter where you turned it will always follow your screen. Also, rain is the same way in Oblivion, thus is why it comes through the roof. It would be sweet if rain is in the gamespace as well.

Edit: Ninja'd by Worm. :swear:

Been trying to figure that out, no luck so far, they look like statues or something.

I hope rain works the same way. They wouldn't go through all the trouble of making a graphics engine capable of dynamic snow but still have rain fall through bridges.

Would they?

I would hope not. I might try to work on a mod to make a water effect on the ground while it's raining as well if they don't have rain water build up as standard (which they probably won't have because it would eat processing power) but I'm going to try my hardest to challenge my computer (it's going to be damn hard)
