There's a bobblehead there (the lockpick), other than that, I don't know of any secrets. :)

There's also the only respawning skill book for heavy weapons. Since it's looted off of a respawning raider.

Which is near the Lockpicking Bobblehead.

There's also a text-based RPG on one of the terminals. It's Grognak.

I'm putting most of this thing under spoiler alert because you really should've posted this in the spoiler section anyway.

I am guessing this area is a nod to the publisher, though the Bethesda offices iirc are located in Rockville. As it lays in the game, I think the real world geography is correct because you can lay a couse from Bethsda Ruins to Wheaton (Wheaton Armory) to Olney.

Spoiler
Aside from the Big Guns skill book and the bobblehead, there's also a Sneak book and some missiles in the same building, and a mini nuke, a Dean's, and a Science book in the next building. Not far from the offices, there's a random encounter point (east I think), down the street past the sniper in the corner of the ruined building and the raider or two who are right around the blasted out bus--one possible encounter being the Unidentified Flying Debris encounter (Firelance event). Aside from leveled loot from raiders, a low level character can make out with some combat shotguns from the traps in one of the office buildings, plus there is a pretty unique grenade trap in a hole between the floors of that same building. There's also the sewers/metro...When you enter here, you trigger an event where a bunch of leveled ghouls run out (possibly reavers if you have Broken Steel installed), attacking you if you aren't cloaked or wearing the ghoul mask--plus there's skill books (dunno what they are off the top of my head) and a small storage room/closet with ammo boxes, a mini nuke, and some other good stuff. A lot of the good stuff is hidden, so turn over milk crates and such with your grab key. I believe there's also the makings for a shishkebab and maybe also a rock-it launcher right around the workbench in the western building.

The two buildings are otherwise notable for being among the few indoor cells that respawn NPCs (including the notorious flamer-wielding raider with the US Army Flamethower book). Turrets do not respawn. It could be cool to use your mesmetron to make this place friendly towards you.

East of here there's a small group of houses. One of them is "the Raid Shack." The raiders inside respawn including one carrying the unique "Stabhappy" knife (the knife respawns as well). There's also a skill book inside (don't remember which one). Outside is one of the rare exploding mailboxes and a random enemy encounter (usually a lone Mr. Gutsy for me).

Basically, if you're lookin' for an area lousy with loot and enemies or encounters or whatever, this is it. Another good one is around Jury Street Metro.

That's in that Comic building. Not in the Bethesda Ruins.

Actually, gamesas was originally based out of Bethesda, Maryland. Hence the name. It moved to Rockville, Maryland in 1990.
