Those all look like pretty warm colors to me, so for a Security I say no.

Oh, yeah, boo to that whole factions thing! :sadvaultboy: But I was thinking.....maybe as accents...?
I will probably use light, light blues and whites for my Security guy ---or, maybe entirely white (I want to avoid grays :yucky: !) if that's even possible, lol (to represent my medic-ness, hee).

So sad and boring, though. -_- Le sigh. Poor Security dudes. At least they have green and purples and bits of red-ish/orange here and there...

(Ooooh, wait, could the Resistance have pinks and (light) purples, then....? :teehee: )

Like I said I'm pretty sure White,Black, and Gray are neutral colors so they can be used by both factions.

And I don't think their will be a pink (Maybe a lighter shade of red), but light purple I can see.

They have a word for "a lighter shade of red"

Guess what it is?

Oh I know real men wear Pink, I used to have 3 or 4 shirts, but then I hit puberty, got bigger, and now I'm trying to find a pink shirt because I really can't find anything. I would probably wear Pink in this game just for the lawls, but I don't think it will be in Brink.

I'm all about the whiteness, yo. Which is another reason I like Security.

From the look of things though, both sides will have a lot of color choices. I wonder if the guns will have a similar system...?

Yea, but you can wear white in the Resistance too (ie. white Voice jacket that was mentioned sometime back in another thread)

What I want to know is HOW colors available will be displayed, and the range... will it be pre-determined colors/shades from a palette? RGB sliders? And I seem to remember reading somewhere that TEXTURES could be changes too... would like to hear more on that, I'd love to use the Freak's balaclava if it isn't shiny gimp leather like the cinematic trailer...

You can change the colors of the clothes that your guy wears. It doesn't have to be just blue and gray.

The Security can use orange and yellow in their outfits as well. There's a few examples on the Customization page.

"Warm" colours won't be widespread amongst security items, though.

The Look and The Freak have red as some core elements, but I doubt every Security Item will allow to use these colours as core features.

I doubt either side would be restricted of colors, that would take away from the extensive customization. It be a condrictory if you could get oh so many security outfits but can only color them in green or blue. I'm more than certain you can color your characters in whatever color you choose, regardless of which faction you are. I have yet to see any game, bad or good, popular or unheard of, that would not allow colors for all teams

You obviously missed Transformers: War for Cybertron.

Which had designated colours available to each side, then you could adjust brightness and contrast within the available base colours.

Decepticons for pinks, purples, and the pastel-shade colours.

Autobots got the primaries and vivid colours - Blue, Red, Yellow, Orange, etc.

Basically, the Autobots get vibrant colours, and Decepticons get more subdued, subtle colours.

Made characters both visible against he background and distinct from enemies.

I kinda hope they are restrictive with colours... I don't want to get a migraine because people will be running around in fluro shades.

I find that the Security look cooler actually, and the colors I prefer as well.
I really don't like the "gangster" look on some of the resistance, some are good though.

Would it not make sense for the 'primary' colors of Sec to be the 'cool' ones and then the 'secondary/accent colors to be what whatever you want?

There are more customization options than there are archetypes. So you didn't really answer his question at all.

Actually, I've found two pictures on the game's official site, there are several security members wearing yellow. One being a larger version of the bug wearing all yellow and another being a small team next to a crane control room, and one of the squad members is wearing a black/yellow mix pair of pants and armor.

All in all, Urban is correct, Resistance gets warm and vibrant colours, while the Security gets cool and bland colours.

Security has a Uniform style while the resistance look like they escaped from North Korea, I generally prefer the Security side, but i do like the psycho pack, and the lost jacket.

Ok, i think the security colors are kind of bland. Effective. But bland. I mean, lets be honest, the only reason people like the resistance (except for a few poeple) is becuase they look "cooler".

I disagree. I personally like the cleaner, sleeker design of the security, plus I think police-type colors can look cool. (Silver and dark blue FTW! ;) )

Just so you know, you can't pick individual colors for everything. You can change colors, but it changes things as a set. For example, say you want to change the colors for "The Warrior" shirt - you can't pick every line/border and change them separately. You will pick a pre-determined color scheme from a list. Changing the texture and/or pattern, may be tied to this as well.

Also, the color schemes serve an important purpose (no, not making your character look cool) They serve as a way for distinguishing friend from foe on the battlefield, so some of you may not like the choices available to you, but they were most likely selected (and tested) for reasons other than aesthetics.
