Well, the numbers have been fluctuating; Resistance was ahead for a while there. As someone else has said, this is hardly accurate as a whole.

Hey, I bet I know what's going on! The Resistance, not being well trained or militaristic...hasn't even freaking shown up yet. They're just chilling, not even aware something is going on yet. :wink_smile:

Also, that's an interesting point about "bad guys"...no one ever thinks they're shooting at the "good guys," because we* are the good guys.

That spreadsheet you linked looks like some people voted multiple times to boost certain categories. I know the last time I saw it there were some pretty significant differences:

-PlayStation 3 was in last place, with Xbox 360 being in the lead by a fair amount. Kind of funny how PlayStation now just so happens to be tied for first.
-No female characters will keep me from buying this game DEFINITELY did not account for over a fourth of the votes; there's simply no way I can believe that number.
-The SpecOps pack had a lead, but it wasn't quite as massive as it is now.
-Security/Resistance was pretty even, about 52%/48%.
-Light/Medium/Heavy was around 45%/35%/20%.
-Class spread was pretty even, though I believe Operative and Soldier were leading slightly.
-Light weapons had a commanding lead; I seriously doubt that sidearms will be the most used weapon type. Another stat I simply cannot believe.

So yeah, I'd doubt the validity of that poll at this point.

At first glimpse of the trailer (about a year ago..) I thought, resistance is going to be jam-packed, but judging by the poll results, everybody is thinking the same and reverting to security. But I'm going to stick with resistance because of the fact I think my personality would be reflected in the same way the resistance is. Kinda cool.

I love that they don't come out and say that one side is the "good guys" and the other the "bad guys." Honestly, I'm equally sick of the games where you fight the terrorists, and the games where you're all oppressed and crap, and have to fight the authorities. Both get old, but when you're given the choice to play either and decide who is good and bad, it breathes new life into both sides.

I like the look of Security better.

I like the storyline/politics side pretty well for both.

That being said, I was hoping with as decent of a forum community as I have seen on these boards, we might be able to get an honest idea of the preferred faction, but apparently these polls don't actually stand for much because people just screw with votes for teh lulz :confused:

Yeah, philosophies aside I must say that the Security has some really sweet face masks like "The Look", "The Bug", and The Eel"




I dunno, do they walk in single file lines when they travel?

I will play both factions as both sides have their good reasons and it would extend gameplay and introduce variety in appearances and story. ^_^

However, I voted for Security. I loves a man in uniform, lol.

I think it's also partly because I tend to idealize (Why? I don't know? Is it a cultural thing? a social thing? a female thing? an-influenced from CSI/crime movies/tv kind of thing?) anyone in uniforms, especially those who help or defend people like military soldiers, police officers, firefighters, doctors/Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT)/Paramedics, etc.

I also feel that the Security are just doing their jobs. (I always feel sorry for cops and/or EMT's/Paramedics, Bob and Joe, that always get killed in many crime/action shows, lol!)

Maybe there's some corruption (on both sides, maybe or from some of the Founders?), but maybe the Security are not aware of it? :shrug:
Maybe it depends on which side of the story you play in? Maybe the story is flexible, and, depending on the story missions you do, there are different explanations and stuff?

I showed up as it tipped just over a 60/40 split in favour of Security. Since then, it's gradually worked back towards 50/50 every time I check in on the thread.

All we're going to need now is a poll which shows the faction splits on each platform. I wonder if it'll be different...

At first it was clothes at first since that was all we had to work with at first, and Security sold me on that aspect.

But as I became more familiar with the Ark's history I also started to agree more towards the Security side of the story, and sympathize for them and the original occupants who have been put into rather a predicament between the Founders and the Resistance. Not that I don't sympathize for the Resistance too, but I don't feel the Security are directly responsible for the situation they and the refugees are in... and they're just trying to keep the peace, make a living, and probably keep their families safe.

i reckon that people choose security because most of the trailers so more security than resistance

no-one will ever know how many of players are on their side cause there thousands of Op's players aswell to confuse to

but i am looking forward to security more, just like hunt rabbits :tongue:
