I dunno, when I think "Brink trailers" I think the Anger stabbing the Bug, and "you ready to use these Brothers?"... I seemed to notice a little more Resistance-favoring.

Also, the Resistance guys are shown using the Parkour elements more.

Yea Security didn't get anything as epic as that. The only thing that comes close is "A rusty old pistol and some leaflets"

I'm glad chat is off by default because I don't want to hear about it when people don't get to play as their favorite side and have to play on the other side to balance things out. I bet this will happen and hearts will be broken.

Choice: Security

I'm choosing them because they look awesome and I am getting the pre-order for the security set.

and resistance because i like the story for them

Resistance....fighting is easy when you rich it takes hard work,and skill to come out of the ashes... :violin:

I'll end up playing both a little, to spice up gameplay.

But my first choice will definately be security. I like being part of authority. I know there's no "good/bad" but like others say, the cops kinda seem like the bad guys, can't blame anyone for that general feeling. But i like being the bad guy. In RDR i was a real bastard, online and off. Also even when i'm playing as resistance, i'll try and black out my guy as much as possible, (if that's possible considering they might look too much like security???). But since security already has those colors, it makes the choice easier.

Resistance will be fun too though, more character options IMO. +1 for the underdogs. Wins might feel more "weighty" even if just for the story aspect.

It's cool buddy, the security obviously payed off voters. :3 Like other people have said, everyone loves the underdog, and the Resistance has more heart. Now out of character, I will obviously play as both to understand the storyline, but when it comes to online play, I will try to play towards the Resistance much more. No 2 cent Rent-a-Cop is going to take me down. >:U

Have fun waiting. Story-wise it's just not there, man. Why would Security hire mercs knowing the only other faction they could work for is the Resistance? And we all know the Resistance is to poor to hire mercs. The poll is to see which faction is preferred. Last time I checked "Mercenaries" wasn't one of the playable factions in Brink.

I think "mercs" are the players who will play both sides just as happily.

I'd fit that category, but I'm leaning towards the Security side, so that's where my vote goes.

Well yeah, I'm sure there are plenty of people that like both sides equally, but there votes won't really change the ratio b/c they'de just add 1 vote to both sides...

Looks: Very close... actually a tie. Resistance if they have some kind of jacket with fur around the collar. I'm really liking the Security's long coats.
Politics: Resistance, they fight for a more equal distribution of resources, while the Security just protects an unjust status quo.

But they mostly have a (slight) preference for one side or the other, and the ratio's probably similar for Security vs. Resistance. Not having a "both" option I think is the better option in a poll like this - forces people to choose their favourite, rather than just being lazy and saying "Well, I like both, so I'll vote both instead of really thinking about it"

Assuming you didn't really think about it and come to the conclusion that you like both... which is possible

my guess is that I'll pick security. I sense alot of light resistence operatives with light rifles.

but then again, if my friends are dead set on one faction, I'll play with them, whatever side.

That isn't how the game works. You don't have to play Security if you don't want to. And vice versa.
If I'm wrong and it just like every other shooter out there, I'll be a little disappointed.
Nothing that would turn me off the game though since you set up looks for both sides.

And please confirm that statement.

I think you're right, Napalm. I remember reading somewhere that you choose which side you want to be on first thing, I doubt it would force you to play the other side. Still, I can't say for certain.

Exactly. And yeah, I know you can't vote twice, but I meant that the "merc" option is essentially saying you'll play both sides equally, which translates to one more player for both factions, thus not changing the existing ratio.



So long as there is one player, there's a game because balancing sides isn't an issue when bots take the place of missing players.
