Security vs. Resistance 5

Post » Tue Dec 14, 2010 11:38 am

Didn't know anything of this Mercenary stuff. I'll be going Mercenary because the gaming group that I'm a member of will be just that because they are that in games: mercenaries.

Definatly security. The resistance should just be happy that they're allowed on the Ark. They could be like they're dead buddies.

Normally, I go with the mercenary faction because I like the idea of simply being a gun for hire with no loyalty ties to any one faction. This time, though, I think I'll go with the Security route. Protecting my own, as they say.

For the Cuilleain Legacy!

Some of them are. Why would they be happy to be allowed on the ark now when they are trying to leave it?

Because they have no where else to go.

They are trying to leave the Ark. Appearently, the had something to contact. And you come in after all hell breaks loose. So they want to try get contact back with the outside world.

They are tired of the security killing the refugees (the civilians) by starving them and not giving them enough water to survive, or even supplying basic needs. They have been forced to fight for the good of their own survival. They don't simply want to lay on the ground with no hope, and slowly die.

I thought they were just restricting rations, not starving them.

Restricting their rations is starving them. The founders are hoarding the water.

Yea there has only been no contact for 20 years. I am sure everyone is nice and dandy on the mainland.

There's a difference between completely restricting and partially restricting.

Not to mention, if they're that pissed about the water rations, why not just join the security, they give their soldiers extra water rations.

Not everyone wants to fight for them. They see them as oppressors. Who ration them, force them to do work nobody wants to do and not letting them leave.

Is it too much to ask the founders to stop hoarding all the water and distribute it equally?

Regardless of the current status quo the Security/Founders let the refugees on the ark. They would all be dead otherwise. As I think to think of it the world is basically in the middle of the zombie apocalsype but with water. When a bunch of people come to your fortress its the humane thing to do but not always the best choice for survival.

If they are taking up so much, why not let them leave?

Waste of resources to let them leave. They would need transport, food, water for the journey and theirs been no communication with the otherside world for 20 years. Where do they plan to go?

Where did it say they lost contact for 20 years? I thought it was recent.

I think it was one of the Richard Ham interviews, I could be wrong though.

Alright fine.

But still, the resources are going. In their eyes, they are slowly dying. Eventually, it will all be gone and everyone will be screwed.

They see the other option as go out into the world to see what is left. And see if they can find anything, something for them to live off. Instead of staying on the Ark and dying. And living in poverty while the founders hoard the water.

But, heading out takes away a huge chunk of the few resources they have.
Perhaps only 100 people survive. Maybe no one survives. Should they take that risk or rather stay were they are and hang on as long as possible. That is the big question. That's what they're fighting for.

Stay = Security
Leave = Resistance

You don't know what would happen in either case. It's the same in the real world: conservatives rather "stay" where they are (They don't want huge changes, they dislike change) while progressives try to get forward (They try new things). It's comparable to the resistance and the security.
