Right now I'm saying Security because it appears the spec-ops pact is only clothing for the security. And also I think they are just defending what is theirs. And they look cooler in my opinion.

Could of swore this was the game where they had the video of one guy finding a box and it seem like there was some sort of alien race on the planet maybe its the wrong game lol....or perhaps a secret fourth faction

Wow you really don't know the backstory. The Security are the defenders of the Founders who build and maintanced the Ark. The Resistance are reminants of the refugees who came to the Ark. The Security let them onto the Ark. So without the mercy of the Security there would be no Resistance.

ok never mind i found story. It's even worse then what i came up with...the refugees had no choice but to rebel, less water and food, while doing more work then anyone? we are the back bone of that place and all security does is what? we just want equality and to find some land.

There is just no possible way to pick what side to be on they are both awesome
