Security vs. Resistance 4

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:25 pm

True, but the security are denying the resistance of food, supplies, and water. And taking water from them. So they are tearing it apart too.

Its only been said security gets extra rations of water, which makes sense since they are the ones risking their lives to prevent an all out civil war. And can you blame them for no supplying water to people who are trying to kill them?

Of course because of this resistance is fighting so a downward spiral.

The developers purposely designed the game in a way that no sides can be logically at fault. The Resistance are fighting to survive, while the Security are fighting to maintain order. Clearly, it's the ruling government of the Ark that makes the decisions of ratio distribution, and it is their choices that forced people in the Resistance to rebel. The Security Forces do not necessarily have to agree with the government's choices, but they don't think that rebelling and causing chaos is the solution to the present problem. So I really see no point in the arguments between the two sides to see who has the moral high ground, since both sides have a good cause for their fight.

That being said, I support security. I have always been a svcker for cool-looking uniforms xD

Well of course both sides are almost in the right. Everyone knows this, but how can you see no point. The fact is, there is a much larger point. The argument is so much more interesting. It's equality and freedom vs. survival and protection. It's interesting to so many levels, and i really don't understand how you can find no point to either argument. If both sides are right, then it makes it so much better.

On a side note, if there was no Merc option, i would chose Security. I love these kind of arguments because you have to expose your own philosophy. I will work for both sides. The Security are the guards, they want to stop the Resistance from destroying their civilisation there on the Ark. But they abuse them in doing so.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

EDIT: Spelling mistakes

I am going for security as my preferred faction to play but that is just because I prefer their cleaner more sophisticated or techno look. I also think they look really badass because of their armour :D

BUT

I agree with the resistance's cause more and believe they have the moral high ground due to the fact that if there are resources then everyone should share them equally not just a small select group hoarding them.

Now all I need is to get the security with the resistance's cause...wait a minute...then there would be no point in the game would there :D

This actually supports my points. A Resistance victory does not necessarily mean equality, nor does a Security victory necessarily lead to survival of the Ark residents. It is not that the Security don't believe in equality, but they believe that rebelling is not the way to achieve it. Similarly, it is not that the resistance don't believe in protection of civilization, but their poor living conditions convinced them that they are in desperate need of change.

I think that there is equality for both sides' cause, and am not convinced why some people think one side is "more right" than the other. I think that neither sides are "right", nor are any of them "wrong". They're just both people fighting for what they believe in.

My allegiance with the security has nothing to do with the war, merely because they look so damn cool =P

Yes, and that is what make it so interesting. How can you say there is no point to debating it, when there clearly is. If it is what people believe in, than it is clear that they think that there side is right. If somebody opposes their beliefs, then surely you would argue for it. There are two sides to every arguement, does this mean that every arguement is pointless?
