Security vs. Resistance 4

Just starting it up, as we all no #3 is one post from being locked.

I added a neutral option though, as some have yet to decide.

As I posted the 200th post on the other thread, I'll also post it on here so people can follow on:


So, if an enemy is disguised there will be a bump to see that he is an Operative. It's like spy-checking without friendly fire.

This implies that there is no collision within a team (like in TF2), it does not state whether or not you can impede an enemy by standing in his way.
If you can just walk through someone, what would be the purpose of a trying to block the enemy. They could just walk through you, backstab you, and be on their way.

Also, a light can hide behind a heavy. On a charge for cover, a light could use the heavy as a meat shield to get there unharmed (provided the heavy player is willing to cooperate).

Soft collision also applies to turrets -

"turrets that one can put down aren't anywhere near as strong as a normal player. they can be damaged very quickly (destroying takes longer, but while damaged they're totally off line), they have no collision (or rather, they have 'soft' collision... you can't stand inside one, but you can move through it easily - this is true for collision with players as well)"

About the collision thing: I'm hoping enemies are hard targets. Otherwise there could be some complications with meleeing.

Well he says there will be no collision between players at all, which to me sounds like no collision between any players.

No 'shop used. Go to the character creator and look under Resistance. It's totally there. Whether it's a mistake or not, I don't know. It could be that I just stole your clothes for my disguise.

Security, cus i likes havin a shiny gun.

as to the "bump"...just look at videos or play the playstation home thing that u can download for free on the PS3...run into another player and watch as they are simply pushed aside on your screen but to them you walked around them...my guess is the bump will be somethin like that

Speaking of the "bump" it would be nice if you and an enemy manage to actually run into each other if you both got knocked back and staggered for a few seconds or something. I guess the stagger time would be increased based on body size and speed you both were running.

Anyway I am still Security. Got to keep all those people, who didnt want to live on a giant floating boat but came runnin when thier land got eatin by water and dont wanna deal with the rationing put in place to keep everyone alive, from taking over our precious Ark.
