I have my game installed, started playing it the first time thanks to help here getting about my Nvidia software -

Now I have a new problem that is built into the game... SecuRom, it works just fine;

Put the original DVD in the DVD Drive......ummmm..... I got the disk.. staring it it right now in fact, and Disk 2 DLC (which installed just fine by-the-way)... but the DVD Drive .....
Well... urrr... I don't have it and I won't for at least 6 months if lucky, it's a external drive and currectly it's with a laptop flying to the US, I am in Sweden, in fact, this was the whole reason this particual game was purchased so I have something to play in the long hours alone at home..

Looking at the game box right here and doesn't even says a DVD drive is required to play (It actually don't say it's DVD needed to install, they just kinda assume you see it a DVD and have a fixed drive in the case, but it's not listed in the requirements).

Normally you could just say, go buy another drive, I am disabled, it took me 6 months just to save the 10Euro to buy the game on my income, that is not a viable answer.

Is there a no-CD option or who do I need to contact to get a solution?

f you already had configured the game on the machine you have there, you don't need to use the default launcher to play, Infact I highly recommend

You could try to start Fallout3.exe directly, and not use the Fallout Launcher.

And just for future reference, the vast majority of games that are bought on disc, requires the disc in the drive to play.

Oddly I hardly ever run into it, this is the first time I can think of where I haven't had the DRIVE available so I might not have given it much thought before.. I have 4 PCs here and none can play this game right now which is really funny with 2 being quad processors and nvidia 420 video and 2g - 8 GB ram.. but not a single one has a DVD drive in it (I have 1 portable DVD drive that moves around tween the machines when it's here, and all the rest of data is on USB memory drives)

This seems very strange to me.

to me as well, anymore a DVD drive is pretty much standard equipment on a PC.

I guess there is the steam version but that's buying the game again
