Err it could be anything, his skin does have a sort of greenish tint to it however from what I can see it could be armour as well.

That being said even if it is an Orc what is all this fuss about? I mean was there a rumour that Orcs would be cut from Skyrim or something?

I see why you would think the guard is an orc.He does look like he has green skin,but upon further review im almost positive he is just a normal guard wearing a helmet who's skin looks darker cause of the shadowing.
I just spent 20 minutes checking this out on my big screen(watching the xbox live trailer) and the reason why I dont think the guard is an orc is because when I first starting watching that scene I thought the woman on left of the screen was an orc too.
Her skin looked green aswell,but when she takes a couple steps closer to the sunlight she clearly has white skin.
So I think the same thing is going on with the guard.I cannot make it out on my computer as it is too small,but if any of you have a nice big screen t.v. then you will see what I am talking about with the woman.

However,in the very next shot(the snow and what might be the 1000 steps)there is some archer(I know this has been pointed out already)but that guy actually looks like an Orc.Again I can only make this out on the big screen(not on my computer) but it really looks like he has greenish skin and teeth sticking out like tusks.Totally looks like an Orc.

There's an orc on the orc armor concept art. Not in the armor, but the face to the left of it.

I don't see an orc and I don't see him or her having green skin.

So far I am not impressed with the pictures when trying to see the NPCs characters. They all seem blurry and pixiliated, almost like Baldurs Gate. If you have to ask what it is, then the pictures are not clear enough. Like the guy when he got stabbed from a sneak attack and there is someone playing a Lute. We can't tell really if it's a he or she and what race.

Other than that, I am impressed with what I am seeing, just not with the NPC shots because we can't tell what they are.

I agree, even if there is an orc in the picture, it isn't clear enough to make out any detail, so it doesn't satisfy me. What I want to see is close up pictures that actually show us what the different races look like, not a figure too distant to make out any details that MIGHT be this race or that.

I checked the video itself. It looks like an Orc at first, but then if you look closely as it pans to the right, you'll see that he has tan-beige skin and not green skin. The appearance of green skin was an optical illusion - with so much greenery surrounded the characters in that scene, a green hue fades out the skin of the approaching guard. But he is most definitely a Nord.

Yeah, it's really pixelated, but all you need is to see the beige-tan pixels of the skin to see that it's clearly a Nord/Human and not an Orc.

I think that ends this, I was on the fence until now.

1. He's in a shadow.
2. The scene is at sunset
3. He's wearing armor that's covering most of his body.
4. There is no anti-aliasing, thus creates horrible distortion on far away NPCs.
5. Using a color picker, his skin is leaning more towards red than green.

We are so beyond desperate to see other races that we are now seeing them when they aren't there. Heal us, Bethesda.

So much greenery? This isn't the pine forest scene it's the windmill scene which is presumed to be Solitude correct? I don't see much greenery at all in that scene.
