Seeking a variety of Q & A questions

Obviously, Heavies can use shotguns. Are you asking if it would be a viable choice for heavies to choose shotguns as a primary weapon?

Yeah. Will it be a viable choice? In a lot of games you have to hide and pick your shots and only go for one guy at a time. Take one out, hide take out another. But I've heard the heavy has an autoshotty. So will a heavy with this weapon be a force to be reckoned with in tight corners? And will the shotgun knock foes down pretty quickly?

I ask because I want to be the guy that's clearing rooms to come revive my allies.

I think its important to note that they are probably still in the final stages of beta, and asking for specifics on weapon stats and the like are not set in stone, thus the devs are likely to avoid such questions.

Also, the Heavy shotgun's real world look-a-like is a semi auto, where as the medium shotgun is pump action. I don't think its an "auto shotty"
Might as well ask though: Is the heavy shotgun an Auto-Shotty?

I have a question: can you switch character builds in the middle of missions, like when you're respawning?

You can switch classes in game, but switching characters or altering your skills can only be done in-between games

Oh ok, thanks I've been wondering about that for awhile.

Being able to change characters/skills in-game, would kind of defeat the purpose of giving players a choice in the first place.

What I meant by my question was could you change to other characters that you had made previously because I believe you can create up to 16. I'm sorry if that's a stupid question and has already been answered, I'm new to these forums and I actually did try using the search function.

Most likely not. Because you can't change body types during matches so I don't know why they'd let you switch characters. That's a much bigger change. You can only change class. Engineer, Operative, Soldier, Medic during a match.

Who knows.. PERHAPS! There is a ''teleporter'' command post you can capture, that makes you be able to change characters fully? (Special abilities, and body type - Or well, just to some other character)

Make sure not to ask questions that will be hard to answer for the devs, and if a question is, try to make it more comfortable. Last thing we need is negative feedback about devs if they starting stalling in an interview.

Yes, players are able to re-spec their characters, for a fee.

For PConly:
Are there private (reserved) slots on the servers for admins/regulars?
Will we be able to vote for shuffle teams?
Will we be able to switch teams during a match?
Autobalance option?

(Some questions are probably asked before, but I'm not having enough time to check everything)

Will there be a vote kick option in-game?
If so, how will the kicking system work?

Hit detection is a definite issue for some games when they come out. Have the developers noticed this and are making especially sure to check on the hit detection?

Will this game have bullet penetration (ie. walls), or specific rounds to allow it?

None what-so-ever. Not through walls, not through people, not through wooden items.

You do realize that even though Splash Damage has highly modified the engine, Brink is still using idtech4 - an engine that has been out since 2003. I'm not sure how good the ragdoll physics are on that engine.

-Can you dual wield pistols?

No. They didn't put them in, because it would conflict with the SMART system. (They want you to be able to do all actions at all times, while still being able to shoot)

-How many achievements/trophies are there? (X360/PS3)

There probably will be, but I hope they focus on teamwork mostly.

Well, it's a game for the XBOX360 / PS3 (and the PC, but nevermind that, back to you, consoles)

Since it's a console game of this generation, it is bound to have achievements/trophies, with a total of 1000 Gamerscore and who knows what the PS3 version is.

Every game has around 50 achievements, that is also the max number of achievements a game is allowed to have (not counting in DLC, they can add more achievements and points with the DLC)

So.. Around 50 Achievements / 51 Trophies (since the PS3 always got a trophy for getting all achievements?)

I have games with over 70 achievements unlockable, mind you I play the 360. I doubt Brink will have many achievements, most shooters typically have around 50. More RPGish games get much much more. But who knows with Brink.
