That one seems just a bit deceptive. http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m245/A_User_Name_That_Isnt_Taken/Untitled-1-21.gif is a better example.

Indeed, the darker shadows from that previous shot have nothing to do with ambient occlusion.

Risen, seriously, it's from the creators of the Gothic series if I remember correctly. It has most of what you listed, with the possible exception of traveling npcs, and obviously without Skyrim's dragons.


Except Risen looks like a game made in 2006. Seriously.

It's horrible. Ambient occulsion did nothing for the low poly models, horrid textures, and Morrowind-era animations.
