Seems like you can turn any enemy into your companion

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 10:27 pm

http://orcz.com/Fallout_4:_Intimidation Rank 3

Requires Charisma 10, level 50

"When you successfully pacify someone, you can give them specific commands"

So sounds like we can make everyone our companion (though not sure how long the effect lasts)

It's also dependent on level, so none of those coercion perks will ever work on an NPC at a higher level than you. And I'm sure there will be some NPCs that are outright immune to it - like maybe most essential NPCs.

I wonder how many NPCS you can affect at a time with this are or if there's so e kind of time limit before they run off/turn on you.

Is the description of the perk based purely on the picture? Or did I miss something?

The title and description of this perk has been confirmed based on one of the latest leaks

...Slavery?

I mean thats kinda how this perk could go. I doubt they'd join you out of their own will, its mostly a "Fight those raiders or I kill you" thing from what I infer from that description. This does seem to be a good way to enslave people though, either for your own ends or to sell them to whatever slavers are around.

Isn't all of that stuff on Orcz speculation at this point?

Probably works for other creatures too, since there are other charisma perks that affect animals and monsters (Animal Friend/Wasteland Whisperer also have 3 ranks). Pacify and control a deathclaw just by staring it down? YES PLEASE

I would think / hope that those effects are temporary --- if you hold a gun on some guy, I'm sure you could get him to do what you want (assuming your Charisma/ranks in the perk are high enough).... but the second you put that gun ~away~ and tell him to stand watch while you sleep.... at best you lose your unwilling Companion, and at worst you get your throat cut.

Slavery? Yes please! One of my more immoral character choices in the F3 story was the siding with the Paradise Falls slavers / The Pitt slavers, it is fun/good/upstanding etc to be a hero of the wastes but it is also interesting to explore the darker side of what a less moral character may do.

That said this doesn't sound like Slavery as such, but still sounds like something pretty badass to have.

This is of course just one of my many predictions that are now turning out to be correct. Just wanted to put that out there :D

That moment when you realize you're wrong and there's evidence backing up the hype.

Looks like charisma is no longer my dump stat.

It seems like each stat has it's strengths.

To me, strength is probably least desirable. I'll pump some points in eventually for armor crafting, however.

I envision this as something akin to a D&D "charm spell" or some sort of "jedi mind trick" type situation...not permanently recruiting a Deathclaw to be your body guard.

I agree that they seem to have done a very decent job at spreading out the useful perks across most all of the SPECIAL scores so each one has some appeal to different segments of the player base.

More than likely. I wonder if we'll be able to do this from a distance. That would be super OP as a sniper.

Depends, we haven't seen a majority of what the strength perks are. That power armor one at the bottom could be pretty great.

Yeah.

Heh. You'll probably have to be in regular combat/speaking range. Or close. And not Hidden.

To quote Han Solo- "That's great kid! Don't get cocky"

Least you forget that some of your earlier speculation was found wanting and revised with the help of suggestions of others.

How about every time you show up in one of these threads to pat yourself on the back and post, "I told you so...", you also mention at least one (of the many) things you did NOT get correct, m'kay?

My guess is you probably have to sneak up close(pick pocket range maybe a little further) to them with your gun pointed at them then activate/engage them from sneak or break sneak the do it

My thought is, you aim your gun at someone and say something tough, and they'll react to that accordingly. Maybe you'd need to be quick with it to intimidate a hostile enemy.

Does this mean we can finally play as Highwaymen in a Bethesda game? With rank 3 of Intimidation, can we command people to hand over their caps?
