wouldn't TES be epic if more lore was in the game. Savage man eating (and mer) Bosmer. Faster, stronger redguards. Cyrodiil jungles (they made whole new lore to avoid that one)

I played my first character as a Redguard and made no link to any real-life races. The only reason I haven't played one again is that I tend to sway more towards magic users, and Redguards are more commonly experienced in physical combat. If I were to play that kind of class again though (which I expect I will do in Skyrim at some point), I would definitely choose either a Redguard or an Orc.

They have a wonderful lore, kicked the Orcs ass, and have the most powerful navy in Tameriel. They are pretty awesome.

I like redguards ^_^ I just don't usually play them because I usually always play a wood elves

My current main in Oblivion is a redguard, and I love it! Also, the biggest bad ass in all of TES is the redguard, Cyrus the Reckless. Plus, they tend to get pretty good scores when it comes to people's favorite races.

I didnt use Redguards in Oblivion because I could never make I face that I like looking at. But maybe that will change for Skyrim.

All the races are bound to be liked by someone, Redguards just aren't that popular as some of the others like Dunmer and Argonians.

I like Redguards but I wouldn't play them for Lore reasons. The fact that most of them don't like magic doesn't sit well with me.

Ugh, I'm sure it has nothing to do with real life racism. People generally aren't very fond of Bosmer/Altmer either and you don't see them foulmouthing any tall or small person they meet.

Personally I really like Redguards, although my liking of them kind of faded after I heard they destroyed Orsinium together with those filthy bretons.

True, but its not hard to kick a countries ass when the lands they occupy are surrounded by your own ally. Either way, they are impressive warriors all around. They were strong enough to kill just about everything in Hammerfell.

They have the best one on one swordsmen. Altmer have the best navy.

That said, Redguards are one of my favorite races in TES.

The problem is that Redguards don't really specialize in anything specific but rather they dabble in everything weapon-wise. A lot of people like to make specific classes. I think there will be more love for the Redguard in Skyrim though. Same with Orcs.

If I was black I wouldn't pick the white races, except for elves. [censored] whitey, every damn character is white, and I'm glad tes has a black guy for me to be.


Since I am white, I play white people. Sometimes Latino characters, but rarely. Never black though. Maybe I'm a bit racist, if you want to call it that, but it is what it is.

Op, do you ever play white races if you have a choice between black and white? Or is it just a white people thing?

it seems a lot of people favor magic over martial skills also... why is that?

Also I personally hate mages which is probably why I like red guards, but I hate mages because I feel like in every game they are in.. they are super pompous and think they are better than everyone else because they can spawn some fire or use a charm spell to get a date for their ugly behinds.

Yet the fighters and warriors never get any credit for being able to swing a hammer or axe through some tough armor and being able to withstand a mauling from a vicious animal.

Also, you ever notice how wizards go crazy over the slightest thing?

then we have to send some mage mashing warriors up and handle the mage because his brain is broken.. and all over something simple like a darn toilet... god I hate mages

I like playing Argonians and Khajit because they fit the type of character I like to play. (Theif and assassin) Redgaurds are not great for it...other than that I have no personal problems agaist them.....Oh yeah and in oblivion they got even worse than other races when turned into a vampire...the face got all pale, but the rest was still dark it....it missmatched an it bothered me....

It is funny, you think there would be more considering they are the best warriors. :shrug: I'll probably be a Redguard or Nord. However, I'm racist as hell against those Argonians. I'm gonna have like a dozen lizard-skin belts in Skyrim and wont wear a single one. :disguise:

this is the only thing I could think of. I liked Redguards in both Morrowind and Oblivion as they had some awesome stats, and it was nice to not look like every other Imperial race character out there imo...however, there hasn't been too much lore as far as the past two titles have gone. and if there is, it hasn't been easy enough to find. I don't know very much behind the Redguard race, so I'm guessing people's lack of interest is because there hasn't been much of a highlight on them. Other than Redguards being black, and having some excellent warrior perks, I can't say I know much about them.
