Seems we're starting off in Jail again

Well with GI's update to the hub, I thought this from the wall was interesting: "As Skyrim begins, a lone prisoner begins to learn that he may hold a similar power." Seems we're in jail again. Thoughts?

 Not too surprised. I'm fine with it. It's how it is.

As always, I dont really care if we are in prison or not it seems they think all our charaters must be convicts or wrongly accused of a crime or the like...

Maybe this time we will find out what we've done wrong?

I'm quite comfortable in my "criminal scum" prison uniform by now - no complaints here.

It was either that or wake up with an arrow stuck in my head and get nursed back to health by a golem who thinks he's a cowboy.

I guess they see it as a tradition of sorts (I know it wasn't in Daggerfall). It doesn't bother me.

Their own cliché, which is awesome.

It's tradition.

I never get tired of waking up a criminal. It makes me feel badass and sets the tone for the rest of the game. :toughninja:

I don't see anything wrong with that beginning.

And it isn't the golem who heals you its the village healer. The golem is the one who digs you ffom the barrows and takes you to the healer. Get your facts straight when making a series conversion.

But I like how this series usually makes you start out as a prisoner.
Maybe they'll mix it up once and call you a slave!

It is good for the tradition to the story, long live prisoners who get wrapped up in an epic tail that transends time and help shapes an empire!

It wasn't really tradition before, but with the third game in a row that did it, I guess it has to be now.

I've said this in another thread, and I'll say it again here: the "prisoner" thing is not a series tradition, or at least wasn't until Todd Howard randomly declared it to be one. If it is a tradition, it's a recently manufactured one.

As long as the Turtorial isn't as bad, I won't mind.

Seems like a decent way to start, it lets you decide what kind of childhood you had and gives that sense of freedom at the start of every game.

I don't have a problem with starting off a prisoner. The implication that I was stupid or slow enough to get caught is mildly annoying, but I prefer it over starting off as a child or after just having been shot.

Downside, no Jiub/Valen Dreth

Other than that, this makes me happy :)

Well if the game creater wishs it to be then it is, either way its not a game breaker and its really not that important as to effect the rest of the game.

The problem with starting off in childhood is that a lot of crazy roleplayers will get mad since it limits their character's "story"
