are those fast kills though? or is it just fast compared to the rest of the game...i like doing private matches on cod4/mw2 with some of my good friends, most of us are pure run and gun players...that is some of the most chaotic and fast paced game play you will ever see...there is little to no room for error...since you can die so quickly you need to be on the edge of your seat watching and taking down multiple targets while on the move, standing still is a very bad idea...seems to me in brink there will be alot of overly dragged out firefights, which to be honest will seem to slow the game play down when it takes so much longer to take a single player down.
as far as the objectives...its still a first person shooter...and im sure there will be kill based game modes where the objective is to reach a certain team wide kill count.
Yes, when you play it, it feels fast. Even though you can get into long firefights, they're still way more intense than any cod gameplay I ever had. When I played it, I sometimes got scared when someone suprised me from behind, because I was concentrating too much.
Brink will be more a game where you have to track the enemy with your crosshairs, than spot, aim, shoot, kill.
It's more like: Spot, start doing evasive manouvres, aim for the head/chest while tracking the target.
There are no Killbased modes announced yet. If you read the FAQ it says:
"Q: What game modes will multiplayer have?
A: Brink is an objective based game like Splash Damage's previous games Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. "
