Self-Imposed Downtime

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 12:08 am

I'm going to have to set some rules in place for myself to do something at night other than play FO4. :D

My DVR is screaming under the weight of unwatched shows. I took a small break to binge Jessica Jones on Netflix, but other than that almost all my free time since November has been spent in the Wasteland. Like 380 hours now.

Anybody else having trouble letting go? ;)

My PSN friends keep begging me to play CoD or GTA with them and I always reply "but Fallout...."

My progress is around 8 days. I'm still playing it and on my playthrough 1.5.

Fallout 4 has been my temple of peace. I can chill and enjoy a full packed content of a game without needing help from another players online.

(lvl 48 (highest on 1 of 13 restarts) haven't completed a single campaign) -ikr? lol

praying any updates or patches address at least some of the gameplay problems & /or addition requests, especially the return of actual Survival mode.

since it first came out for me, I preordered, set it to auto download, went to sleep at 5PM the night it came out and woke up at midnight to play for 7 hours before work.

I thought this was about my PC, cause he's been on the move for 31 days without sleep. We need a Needs mod, quick.

A large portion of my 400 hrs play time is from downtime, when i'm building and decorating stuff, i have the game in a window while i'm watching some shows on the side. Some shows don't need your full attention, but others do, like Fargo.

Yeah totally! Playing waaaay too much. Love this game despite it's obvious downfalls. But seriously, get home from work, play, stay up late to play, on the forums at work. Pretty sure my wife is plotting to kill me in my sleep. Problem is i never sleep. Always in the wasteland.

I know what you mean. I got a family. Wife. Son. Some girl I see walking around I think is a daughter. There's a dog under my feet.

Since I'm in the office right now I think I'm supposed to be working. I should check into that sometime.

I know what you mean, but the problem for me is that once I get home from work around 6pm, all I want to do is relax and not think about things - I get into a state of mind where I wouldn't be able to draw or write even if I forced myself to. So, playing such a casual game as Fallout (because you can essentially pick any direction on the map and just go with the flow) has been ideal. In addition, I have not been in the mood for television lately, and am actually dreading the days when the shows I watched so far this season resume. I haven't even wanted to watch Netflix or a movie, just chill and play Fallout. But I won't deny that I do feel guilty for playing as opposed to trying to draw or write, hobbies I haven't engaged in much due to lack of energy/motivation. :P

I canceled cable in February last year so I don't watch any tv anymore. That at least gives me a few hours extra a week, and I still find time for sword practice. I go to the gym every day at lunch so I don't have to waste time on it after work. It's all about scheduling, lol

When I was a kid I use to play games until I was sick, as a 23 year old yea, it's good to set up limits and how long you can play.

There's my life in a nutshell. I actually gave up on watching the Walking Dead when they started up again. Why watch that when I can hunt feral ghouls?

What? You aren't watching TV and playing games at the same time? Amateurs :meh:

Trust me, you did not miss much. I think not even a week lapsed time wise in the story. I hate it when shows do that, really grind the story down. Main reason why I stopped watching Lost at the start of the second season.

Questioning on why I continue to watch TWD. :unsure2:

Haha, if only some of us had two TVs in the same room, it would be possible! I have a PS4, so I am stuck in my bedroom while others watch whatever they want in the living room.

Why would anyone want to watch TV while playing an RPG?

Could explain why some end up missing a lot of stuff in the games they play though. :)

Fallout all the way! TV svcks and is a waste of time.

BTW....im on PS4. How do I find out how long I have been playing? All PS4 shows in the loads is like 33 days, 14 hours..... I want to know how many hours of my life I have spent enjoying this awesome game.

I guess you would multiply the number of days by 24, then add the hours on to that number.

But I do believe it is odd that PS4 saves give you your total play time in D-H-M when almost everyone in these forums talk about their gametime in terms of total hours...

Xbox also does D-H-M. It doesn't help me though since I typically just start the game and then leave it running until bedtime even though I'm doing other things besides playing for part of that time.
