You can't "sell" a spell. You can teach it :).

Thats like, buying Cheese-Itz at the supermarket, eating them all, and returning the box because they didn't satisfy you.

I think the point is, as long as you can clear useless spells, that said the way that Skyrim's spell system sounds... I am doubting there will be as many redundant spells. As for selling spells... not really... you are an adventurer not an academic.

True, but in past elder scrolls games making money usually wasn't much of a problem. Most of my characters were filthy rich by level 8 without even trying. Having to scroll through endless lists of spells that I no longer use was much more of a concern to me.

if the Sell option and Delete option for spells is in the game it's like items that can be Dropped and Selled

If by 'selling' you mean 'teaching it to other NPC for money', then yes.

well maybe on some rare occasion you could be asked by someone to teach him a spell for a certain amount of money but no more than that

Selling a spell is like selling your body. You only do it as a last measure, and even then, you don't talk about it.

^ I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to do this, logically.

"Did you ever hear the story of Darth Plagus the wise?...."

"No"

"He taught his apprentice everything he knew......."

BAD IDEA

It's already been confirmed that you may be approached by an NPC that want's to learn a skill from you. I see no reason why, if you so choose, you shouldn't be able to sell said NPC a spell.

Same here.
Although a cool feature would be, if they have companions/ tag-alongs in Skyrim, be cool to be able to teach them spells they are skilled enough for, of the ones in your spellbook.

I agree. Yes. After we reach a certain level designated as being "master" or "adept" level (say 15th or 20th level), we should then begin to be approached by lesser acolytes hoping to buy spell knowledge from us. They look through our spells, which already have set prices based on the price in the industry... and they may haggle a tad bit, but essentially, you get the same price you paid for it yourself. Then they buy 1-2 spells and leave. A month later, a few more might come.

This would be sort of in line with the PvP reality in games where players build their own factions and help with money, gold, and combat help in return for prestige experience points going upward to help drive the players who want to advance in the game much faster. Only instead of experience, it would just be money coming in. And it would be useful if the game offered more things to do with that money, like help build a town, or fight poverty in small villages in return for a greater prestige or name for yourself throughout the region. Maybe at some point, you need more loyalty points from all the regions in Skyrim, so you have to begin doing good works which require more financial resources.

At some point as you become a Master Wizard, you could actually open your own school, with monthly tuition coming in from every follower, who you then have to give small easily-assignable quests to them to complete with their growing spell arsenal. You could becoming quite rich selling spells that way. As long as there was a good reason to have that kind of money coming in so that it was USEFUL and not just pooling hoardes of wealth you can no longer do anything with.

I agree with you, but I don't see how selling a spell would delete it from your spellbook although that seems to be the point of this thread...
If you taught it to another person, you both have knowledge of it, so it doesn't delete it, you just share it. Its not like spells are physical objects you can trade, like scrolls.

I could see teaching it as an occasional thing done with radiant story, but nothing more. And it certianly wouldn't remove it from your spellbook. (Not saying anyone agreeing with quoted statement thought this as it seems to be the point of the OP)
And I do hope we can delete spells again, why did they ever remove it from Oblivion?!

You know, pretty soon English will be standardized and words like "buyed" and "selled" will be considered correct by most speakers. Just as today we say "you are a donkey" instead of "thou art an ass". :)

But seriously, it's happening. As we speak, the word wed as the past tense of to wed is rapidly being replaced with wedded.

I know. It's sad, isn't it? It's definitely annoying IMO. Is that last part true?

When you buy a spell you actually pay someone to teach you how to cast it so it makes sense that you could teach others.

Dictionary.com already lists the verb wedded as acceptable:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/wedded

30 years ago this would have seemed completely ridiculous.
