Sensor?

Post » Sun Nov 28, 2010 9:40 am

I Have put my Fallout Trilogy pack on my PC and am LOVING it! I thought I would just play it and be like "oh its pretty good" but I really really love playing this game so far! only problem is that I wish the Manual came in a real physical form so that I could use it while playing, instead of looking and memorizing then playing. When I press sensor in the map a message pops up saying somthing like "Motion Sensor Not installed" how do I install this? Is the Sensor Function even any good?

Edit: Also what is up with this 150 day time limit thing? If I don't get the Chip in 150 days do I lose the game?

The motion sensor is an object that you can obtain/purchase in game. in FO1, I found it worthless, but in FO2 it provides a boost to outdoorsman.

Yeah the sensor is probably more trouble than it's worth.

Also, about the manual... why not print it?

Also Also... You indeed lose the game if you haven't found the water chip in 150 days, but that's more than enough time so you shouldn't worry about it too much.

Finding the Chip is just the start of the game, and the time limit is gone after you find it. Its not a tight time limit at all, its just there to give you a sense of urgency and a feeling that the world is always a constant battle for survival.

Its just not the same, also that is alot of ink and paper.

Whats with all these time limits though? it says on the vault Wikia...

Spoiler
After the Vault Dweller gets the chip back to Vault 13, all Necropolis ghouls will be attacked in 30 days by invading mutants, unless Part II can be finished in time.

The second time limit was removed with a patch. If your version is patched you're not going to get it.
Nonetheless 150 days are enough to finish the game without hurrying anyway + you may get a chance to extend that too.

Notice that time in FO1 doesn't go faster -at least not when you're traveling. 1 hour real time is 1 hour game time. You just need to plan your travels ahead a bit because going from one town to the next takes a few days.

Another question I have 120 10mm JHP in my Inventory, my weapon uses 10mm JHP, yet I get a message saying my weapon is out of ammo, do I have to reload somehow or what?

Have you used AP ammo with it? It's also worth notice that JHP and AP ammo deal very different damage against different enemies. Unload and reload weapon in inventory screen. That should fix it.

Its supposed to make the super mutant threat appear to be an actual threat, a threat which is supposedly there but never pans out isnt very threatening. Just makes the game world a bit more alive.

Yes, you do need to reload. Right-Clicking on the weapon in the main interface bar will change modes to allow you to reload without entering the invetory. Alternatively you can drag bullets into the gun.

I think the Fallout Trilogy pack DVD has a pdf manual included. So just open the manual, then run Fallout and use alt-tab to switch between the game and the pdf manual.

There is also a help menu by pressing F1. But you probably knew that already.

The motion sensor is an item indeed, like everybody stated above: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Motion_Sensor
