Sensored Setting

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 4:50 am

Bethesda should make a setting in the game where it bleeps out curse words and makes bad curse words look like %@#$ when the subtitles are on. I think it would add to the overall enjoyment of the game. And, if possible, they should make a setting where, instead of blood and gore, they should make the enemies explode like stuffed animals or something. That way, people who have little children around can play without corrupting the minds of young children and still enjoy the game. A bleeped curse words setting would be very nice to have.

That would certainly make me feel a lot safer, knowing that if my 7 year old was sat next to me as I play, she could watch the nuclear devastation without any risk of blood or curse words.

And of course, everybody loves stuffed animals.

Yeah, let's censor a game which has a provisional rating of 18!

Some sort of confetti gore mode would be cool.

All explosions should be replaced with rainbows and fights with hugging... think of the children!

Oh yeah, spelled censored wrong. Oops. But I'm just saying. I'd prefer to have a censored setting so I can play and occasionally hear a bleep instead of curse words that I hear from little middle schoolers because they think it's cool.

I'm just asking for the option. You don't HAVE to use the setting. I'd just like to have a censored language setting. And I'm sure other players would like it too.

We probably shouldn't use the word "high" in fear of the dreaded middle school parlance... instead we should say "OP, how's the induced euphoria"?

If this is a genuine thread, then on behalf of everyone on here, I apologise.

But I have to say, it does look more than a little bit suspect.

If you don't like profanity, don't buy an M rated game.

If that is your actual point, then using a trolling topic was quite silly.......no one who agrees with you will back you and the rest of us will either assume your a troll or just make fun of you.

anyway, in before the inevitable lock.

Or it could simply be avoided with a censored setting.

Could be, but this is totally Sisyphean, you may as well be asking for actions films to use water pistols instead of guns...

If you're going to use that example, then it'd be more like, asking action films to make a setting to use water pistols instead of guns, which would actually make the movie more entertaining.

Maybe, but saving private Ryan may lose some of it's poignancy if that were the case...

Out of curiosity how strong is your objection/aversion towards profanity?

I haven't cursed (purposely, meaning I accidentally cursed while repeating what someone else said or something like that) for maybe 4-5 years.
