[REL] Sensual Walks for Female NPCs

Thanks for letting me know. I have just done some testing and there does seem to be a problem. I am looking into it now.

btw, if you enclose your LO in spoiler tags ([ spoiler]load ordr[ /spoiler] without the space after the [), it will hide the text unless clicked.

Update

I can't get my saved game to load with the B&M version of Better Cities - CTD when loading my saved game. Sensual Walks not installed. I will have to see why I can't get BC B&M running before I can even look into Sensual Walks - will probably continue looking tomorrow.

Can you install Sensual Walks, run BOSS and then post your load order again so I can see what it looks like with Sensual Walks installed.

Nothing to do with your problem, but I recommend installing Wrye Bash so you can create a bashed patch - this allows you to merge all the Sensual Walks mods and even get Sensual Walks applied to other mods not covered (assuming they make chnages to vanilla Oblivion or Shivering Isles NPCs)

Alrighty then, so, I installed the latest version of Sensual Walks (5.6?; anyway, just downloaded it a few minutes ago) with OBMM, closed OBMM, ran BOSS, and started up Oblivion (using OBSE, of course). It would not get past the loading sequence that occurs prior to the screen where you can select which save to load). Here is the load order (from BOSS) for that sequence. Let me know if you would rather have the load order from OBMM instead. BOSS is easy since it gets created when you run the bat file.

Then, I uninstalled (deactivate then delete) Sensual Walks, ran BOSS, and started up Oblivion. Started up immediately to my last save with no problems. Here is the BOSS report for that (yeah, should be the same as the last one, less Sensual Walks).

It doesn't show here, because I left it out for testing purposes, but normally I also install sixy Walks by Mur_Zik and have no problems with Oblivion running with that (and everything else in the above lists). Just seems to be Sensual Walks (and, I think, when it ran fine, I was never running BC (Bravil version). BC is a recent addition to my game. However, I ran Sensual Walks (along with sixy Walk) together with BloodMudBravil with no problems (prior to installing BC). Not sure any of that helps.

Anyway, appreciate you taking a look at my lists. My assumption is that the order of the mods is messed up somehow. Unfortunately, although I started out with Morrow and Oblivion installing and sorting manually, OBMM and BOSS have messed with my brain and I'm not sure where to start moving mods around anymore manually (or, another way to put it is, I've gotten lazy : )

And, yes, you are quite right about Wrye Bash. It's my next "big thing" to do with Oblivion. I've been bookmarking all the threads on how to use it, so, only a matter of time.

My assumption is that the order of the mods is messed up somehow.

There is nothing specific to Sensual Walks that I can see that should be causing the problem, however, there are a number of things I can see that may be having an effect.

  • The Unrecognised mod files at the end of your mod list will be included at the end of your load order. You need to adjust these manually and not let them load at the end of your mod list as is currently shown.

    If you have Microsoft Word 2003 or later, you can use my BOSS Master List Manager (see my sig for link) to specify where they should load and also ensure that you have the latest masterlist from the Google SVN.

  • I noticed that you have a Bashed Patch, which means you have Wrye Bash installed. You should be using the latest version (285). Once you have ordered your mods, start Wrye Bash, right-click on Bashed Patch, 0.esp and select rebuild patch. If you get a message with a list of mods asking if it should "Automatically deactivate those mods now?" - answer yes.

    You will see a dialogue with two columns. Check Merge patches (left column) and then click Select All (right Column). Check Import Actors: Animations and then click Select All. Check Import NPC Faces and the click Select All. Now click the Build Patch button.

    After following the above, you will have all the Sensual Walks mods merged correctly. There may be some other mods that are also merged and this is OK.

    Now try and load and see if it makes any difference.

  • If it doesn't, use Wrye Bash to list your Load Order (it even generates the spoiler tag for you) by Right-Clicking on the File heading and selecting List Mods. Cut and paste the text in the window displayed and paste into your reply to this post.


If the above does not help then, can you start OBMM, uninstall Sensual Walks, then reinstall Sensual Walks and this time Ctrl-Click the "Bananasplit Better Cities - Full B+M Edition" when you see the list of mods that Sensual Walks will install. Exit OBMM, run BOSS, re-order the undefined mods (unless you are now using BOMM), then start WB and rebuild the bashed patch (it should remember your settings from the last time). Having done this, does your game still hang on load?

One final point, when you view your mods with Wrye Bash, do any of the square boxes next to each ESM and ESP have a yellow, orange or red colour? If so, which mod is it? Usually means that there are missing masters or masters in the wrong sequence.

Let me know how you get on.

Ok. Lots of good suggestions. I'll work my way through them (probably won't have time until this weekend; well, I could ask my boss, but .............. : )

Yes, I've actually fixed a few issues before by checking in Wrye for the "red" colored mods and deactivating them. I "think" I checked when I had Sensual installed and didn't see any issues. I'll check again after I reload it.

Appreciate the instructions on updating the current Bash patch. Don't think there is anything in it currently (too scared to do anything with it : ) I guess one question I had was what if it do a bunch of Bash work and something gets messed up? Can you just right click on the bash patch in Wrye and tell it to "undo"? Guess I can take a look at that. I mean, worst case is I just have to deactivate the Bash patch in OBMM (I think it shows up) and run Boss. Should put everything back to square one (oh, might have to reactivate the esps that were originally bashed). Hmmmm. I'm sure this is all made clear in some of the threads I've bookmarked. So, I just need to get off my butt and read an little and poke around in Wrye.

Yes, I have version 275 of Wrye, so I'll update to the latest.

Yes, I knew about BOMM, just never had a reason to worry about it before. So, I'll look into it. Should be easy. I'll just move them up to where BOSS has put other mods of the same type. What could go wrong? : )

Anyway, I'll work through your suggestions. I'm sure one (or more) of them should work.

To undo the Bashed Patch, simply rebuild the patch with all the checked items in the left column (mentioned in my early post) unchecked. After you exit the bashed patch build dialogue, check the ESPs that are unchecked in the mod list and you have undone the patch.

Hi,
just a quick post before getting the laundry :P

When I use Bash Patch to import the Walks for TronVvalk I have issues with All Natural interiors not working correctly in many parts (inns amongst other things).
I have Tron and Vvalk loaded first after the esm's.
Only when skipping the import animations from the Tron.Vwalk and checking it manually in the load order does the interiors work as intended.

Now of to do the laundry and then to continue the bug hunt (I will hunt down and squash every bug I find :gun: )

EDIT: Back. It seems to affect cells?! My mods for affecting caves were now working too? I also forgot to mention, I am adding the other Vwalk patches with Bash and have not found any issues with those so far (edit, eh, testing now, seems they were unloaded when testing Tron. endedit). Did you import cells from all the All Natural ESPs into your Bashed Patch? It says in the readme that you have to do that to get it working correctly with other mods.

yeah - got the "indoor filter mod" bashed. That's why everything is so weird. When looking at it from TES4Edit it looks like it should work, but something along the way is breaking the chain without crashing the game. I am checking mods right now - but as we saw, when I got it working and thought I found the problem, it came back with activating the other unactivated mods :(

I am having allot of issues of getting my game tip top shape, some things are not working and I refuse to start playing until I know what the problems are (or else they tend to bite you in the behind when you gotten really far in the game and have to end it all; happened too many a times for me to do it again.).

EDIT------>Seems I got it working again. I am not using as many options in the Bash Patch, but I am not sure that was the problem. Now I have solve my Lod problem :( END Edit

When you say you got it working, is this with Sensual Walks included in your Bashed Patch with the BOSS recommended tags? Also, are you using WB v285?

When importing animations and making sure the mods where unticked it worked. Well, at first it didn't work and I started going through my mods again, but I didn't merge my water.mod nor import it's cells - I bashed it differently. I had already looked and cleaned pertinent mods in TES4Edit.

For the time being allot of options are turned off in the Bash patch - like nvidia fog fix, I'll start debugging again later when I got some solid play time in; it's been extremely boring bug hunting the last weeks.

That makes more sense - Merging and importing NPC faces and animations (that is all that Sensual Walks uses) should have no impact on interiors - I have done many checks with TES4Edit on the bashed patch to ensure that it works properly with the Sensual Walks mods.

I avoid importing Scripts and only use the Tweak for how many actors are active at the same time. On the rebuild list I have evrything checked from Merge patches to Import NPC faces plus Relations, Stats and Leveled lists. This combination works very well for me. I use BOSS everything except for some personal mods, a conditional placement and an overide of bash tags for one mod (using BOMM of course :))

I have made Mesogea a little more mature than Vanilla and more grounded, gritty and real. In the cities folk can find ladies practising the worlds oldest profession, the sights, sounds and smells of a real ancient city. (well maybe not smells but if you didnt wash for a month, then played...) anyway. Having a few ladies kicking around the place strutting their stuff, how easy would it be to implement this mod, use it as a plugin etc for non Oblivion characters?

I assume you mean non-vanilla Oblivion NPCs.

The way the permisions work for the animations require that Sensual Walks is installed. If this is OK, you can find a guide on the Nexus download page that explains how to use Sensual Walks in your own mods. Worth mentioning that if your mod is Sensual Walks "Ready", but Sensual Walks is not installed, your mod will still work, but the vanilla walk will be used.

Many thanks for your kind words. If use OBMM and BOSS, should be really quick to set up - and, if using the latest version of Wrye Bash, even the bashed patch process is quick with the WB's automatic deactivate feature :)

Had a problem with Vilja refusing to follow me but it turned out I was using an old version of the patch for her, so now all is good! :)

Glad you resolved the problem - I did a special release for Vilja v2.1 and made the decision to not prompt for v2.0 (no way to automtically detect) - so it is Vilja 2.1 or v1.03. I have started to highlight which version will be loaeded for the various mods and, when I remember, also inlcude it in the ESPs description - hopefully this will help people identify version dependencies.
