[REL] Sensual Walks for Female NPCs

I don't suppose you would be interested in making your mod Sensual Walks "Ready"?

Key point to make is that using Sensual Walk animations in your mod does NOT create any dependency on Sensual Walks. If Sensual Walks is not installed, your mod's female NPCs use the vanilla walk forward animation.

If you are interested, I can do the Female NPC edits for you or I can explain how to do it (I am in the process of writing a guide on how to do this in the hope of reducing patch mods).

I will understand and take no offence if you decline :)

Now would be a great time as I'm close to a refresh (with the Mazken/Aureal expansion) so unless it's a major disruption, I'd be happy to try and do that.

No problem - Can you PM your email address to me so I can send the guide to you as soon as it is usable (rather than when it is ready for uploading to Nexus)?

When you release it, I will start a new section on my Nexus page (and here) listing modules that are Sensual Walks Ready - looks like you will be the first :)

Are you perhaps eying the possibility to start doing animations yourself? Or maybe you already have and I didn't read as closely as I should have.
Boring part is that I have to do something about my Oblivion installation, it got abit messed up a few months ago and I haven't the time or energy to reinstall it all.

I must say this is a very good way of adding spice to Oblivion, giving more character to our NPC. Thank you!

Sure, I think that female guards are a bit too catwalky (a new word :P there is a hard twitch to the hips that is typical for some models), but rather that then the original walk. And yes, I will look at the variants you provide and I haven't updated for a while. Mmmm, overall I can just say it is a pleasure seeing all the different walking styles.

Glad you are enjoying the mod - and do experiment with the Animations Installer to tailor the walks that suite your tatstes.

I did not write any of the animations - well beyonf my meager abilities. I rely on the great talents of Mur_Zik to make animations - just wish he had the time and inclination to create more of them :)

This mod looks delightful, can't wait to give it a go. However I don't use OBMM anymore as I prefer to stick to Wrye Bash's BAIN system (prefer to have a single method of installing mods). Is there any way to install the various animations using BAIN instead?

Funny you should say that - I have recently converted most of my OBMM installs to BAIN. There are some exceptions to my migration and Sensual Wals is one of them. The reason it uses OBMM is that for both the Animations Installer and the Sensual Walks Installer there are some quite complex processing that is required. This includes renaming of ESP and KF files as part of the installation process. In terms of BAIN, there would be far too many permutations to make it something that people could install properly. I took a long look at how it might be done and concluded that it was far too difficult and error prone.

That is a very long way of saying "I'm afraid not" :)

My own experience of migrating to BAIN is that there are some mods that are safer to install with OBMM as wells as managing my OBSE installs. The mods that replace Meshes and Textures are almost always worth trying to convert to BAIN because of WB's superior tracking of restoring things when you deactivate a mod. Mods that install unique files and ESPs (such as Sensual Walks) will not really get much benefit from being converted to BAIN, because there are no complex restores - the file are either installed or deleted.

I did post a request for Script support on the WB thread - one can always dream :)

Finally, of course anything is possible - you could work out what animation files need to be copied and what the target name needs to be. If you look in the "Sensual Walks Animations Installer\Fwalk Mapping\All available female walk animations", the file name is part of the target KF file name (append it to "0FemaleVariableWalk_" to get the full name) and the file extension is the name of the source KF file that needs to be copied. If you do decide to embark on this route, you may find the "Customising the Animations Installer" optional download helpful.

Thanks for the detailed reply... I conclude, at least for the moment, that Sensual Walks is too complicated, so I have dusted off my OBMM and am using it for that. Also using it for your Dark Seducer/Golden Saint custom armour, but I imagine that's easier to BAINify (right?)

Thanks for mentioning managing OBSE installs using OBMM, never thought of that. Is that at all complex? Right from the getgo I haven't used OBMM much so I'm a newbie at that. But managing my OBSE with it would be great.

Again thanks for the food-for-thought :thumbsup:

Yes, the armour mod would be much easier, but you will need to examine the folder structure and move some of the optional ESPs to separate folders and rename them.

I use OBMM for OBSE not so much because the installs are complex, but it helps me keep track of what I have installed, makes it very simple to remove and a place to find the link to the original mod by using the Website field.

^^ Okay great, that seems to be within my BAIN creating skills to do.

Re OBSE, I thought that BAIN could only do certain file types and therefore it had to be done through OBMM. If this isn't the case I would do it through BAIN.

Sorry if I'm derailing the topic!

You do need to use OBMM for OBSE plugins that add DLLs - WB can't do these.

When reading the first page, i saw a post by Showler concerning using Wrye Bash Patch functionality as well.
Do you have any idea if its possible to implement the sixy walks into the bashed patch?
Have you tried it yourself or perhaps you arent using Bash?
It would increase compatibility with other mods.

Im asking since i couldnt find a proper answer in your thread.
