This mod changes the walk animation used by Oblivion's female NPCs to ones that are more feminine and sensual. It uses combinations of http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=764052, http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=451922 , http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=539633, http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=256213, http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=62287 and http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=110658 walk animations to provide you with a choice of standard options or lets you change the walk each type of female NPC uses to suite your personal tastes...

  • Sensual Walks for Female NPCs (uses all available animations)
  • sixy Walk for Female NPCs (using http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18125 or http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15829 animation)
  • Real Walk for Female NPCs (using http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27954 animation)
  • Use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32572 or http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33346 animations
  • Create your own variety of walk animations that different types of female NPCs will use
  • Make all female NPCs use your favourite walk animation
  • BBB walk animation selections are available

Credits (includes a list of supported mods) and Legal information can be found on the Nexus Description page for this mod.

Description

The mod uses a different walk animation for each type of female NPC. Female types are based on...

  • Their class (Noble, Commoner, etc)
  • The job they do (Guard, Thief, etc)
  • Their age (Young or Elderly)
  • A range of other things

The idea is that whenever you see a female NPC in the game, it is always worth watching her walk and trying to guess what type of NPC she is ;)

Known Bugs and Incompatibilities

Occasional mod conflict that prevents Oblivion loading your game. Usually caused by mod variations or load order issues. Tips for correction and identifying the problem mod...

  • Follow the Load Order procedure in the ReadMe
  • If the problem persists, use the Sensual Walks for Female NPCs installer to de-select mods until you identify the problem mod
  • Let me know which mod was causing the problem and I will do my best to correct it.

Sensual Walks Animations Installer

The Animations Installer copies and renames the animation files used by Sensual Walks for Female NPCs.

It also gives you the opportunity to experiment with the walk animations used for each type of female so you can adjust the walk they use to suite your personal tastes.

You can, of course, use the defaults and not bother with all the options - always a good place to start until you see what it looks like in the game.

Sensual Walks FAQ

  • Why is Sensual Walks still loading the old version of TRoN?

Sensual walks supports TRoN (The Underdark - The Realm Of Northdark) versions 0.59, 0.59.1b and 1.1. The installation script automatically establishes which version is installed by checking for the presence or absence of certain TRoN files. For this to work properly you need to uninstall the old version of TRoN and then re-install the new version.

For TRoN version 1.1, Sensual Walks will only install the correct mod if "Data\Meshes\TU\armor\Naja\ilithid.nif" is NOT present. If it is present, then one of the older versions will be installed.

If you have done a manual install of older versions of TRoN, then you can resolve this problem by deleting "Oblivion\Data\Meshes\TU\armor\Naja\ilithid.nif" and then re-running the Sensual Walks mod installation. This approach will load the correct Sensual Walks mod, but you will still have unused TRoN files on your system.

  • When using Wrye Bash, why isn't the Sensual Walks ESP shown in purple?

Wrye Bash version 282 and 283 has some peculiarities in automatically detecting and highlighting mergeable mods with the NoMerge tag set - indicated by purple text.

The easiest way to deal with this is to select all your mods in Wrye Bash (under the Mods Tab) by pressing Ctrl-A, then right-click and select Mark Mergeable. Once you have done this, you will see that all the Sensual Walks ESPs are now purple (plus any of your other mods that were not automatically detected by Wrye Bash).

  • Why are vanilla female NPC faces still being used even though I have installed TNR?

If you are using individual TNR race mods (eg TNR - The Redguards) as well as the Unofficial Oblivion Patch (UOP) then the Oblivion UOP Sensual Walks mod will override the TNR female NPC faces. You can fix this problem by using OBMM to uninstall Sensual Walks for Female NPCs and then...

    Easiest:
Use OBMM to reinstall Sensual Walks for Female NPCs and select “Disable” when you get the “Configure Sensual Walks Unofficial Patches” selection window. The Unofficial Oblivion Patch will still override a small number of female NPC faces, but TNR will work properly.

    Recommended:
Uninstall the individual TNR race mods, install TNR All Races and then use OBMM to reinstall Sensual Walks for Female NPCs. This approach has the advantage of a single TNR mod covering all races as well as getting the benefits of UOP and Sensual Walks.

  • What mods are supported using Wrye Bash to import Sensual Walks animations into the bashed patch?

Sensual Walks animations will be applied to any mod that changes vanilla Oblivion or Shivering Isles female NPCs. Here is a list of some of the mods that have been specifically tested using the bashed patch approach...

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22124
    - All NPC Diversity mods
    - Better Redguards

  • Can I change the default animations used for different female NPCs?

The "Customising the Animations Installer" guide tells you how to make your own customised default Animation Mapping. It explains how you can you can use your customised mapping when new versions of the Installer are released or you want to tweak your existing selections. The guide is available for download on http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28223 under Files.

  • Can I use Sensual Walks in my mods?

The "Using Sensual Walks in your Mods" guide explains how to make your own mods Sensual Walks "Ready". This does NOT create any dependency on Sensual Walks and will only have an effect for users that have installed Sensual Walks.

This "modders only" guide is my attempt at encouraging authors to include Sensual Walks animations in the mods they write and reduce the number of Sensual Walks "patch" mods required. The guide is available for download on http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28223 under Files.

Please note that the Licensing and Legal on the Nexus Description page still apply - you need to get the express permission of both Mur_Zik and Umpa to include their animations in your mod (even if it is only "Ready").

  • Why does my Player Character (PC) still use vanilla walk animations?

The PC character's walk animation is NOT controlled by Sensual Walks, which is only for Female NPCs. If you look on the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28223, you will see a link to Mur_Zik's animations, which are designed for the PC.

You can make your "player" use one of the walks such as sixywalks or Real Walks (both by Mur_Zik) to apply a walk animation to your "player". There are links to these mods on the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28223 and, if you use sixywalks, download the "sixywalks by Mur_Zik Compilation" file (no others needed), which gives you a lot of choices.

  • Can you make Sensual Walks work for custom races?

Sensual Walks applies to NPCs rather than Races. In other words, the race doesn't matter - the NPC does.

  • Can you make a Better Bouncing Boobs (BBB) version for the Sensual Walks?

Sensual Walks now supports BBB. Use the Animations Installer to select the BBB female walk animations. You will need to ensure that you install all the prerequisites for using BBB – these are not included in Sensual Walks.

  • Can you make a BAIN version for the Sensual Walks Animations Installer?

The reason Sensual Walks uses OBMM for the Animations Installer is that there is some quite complex processing required. This includes renaming the animation (KF) files as part of the installation process so that customisation could be supported. In terms of BAIN, there would be far too many permutations to make it something that people could install properly. I took a long look at how it might be done and concluded that it was far too difficult and error prone.

I did say the same thing about the Sensual Walks for Female NPCs and have now released a BAIN compatible version :)

  • Why haven't you included manual instructions to install Sensual Walks?

The reason I did not document manual installation is that the Animations Installer does some quite complex file copying and renaming operations in order to change which female types use which walk animations. The Sensual Walks installer, does a lot of checking on what mods are present in order to determine which Sensual Walks mods to load and ensure that the Sensual Walks mods load after the mods it patches.

I felt that the menu and automation approach was the best solution to making the mod easy to use and avoid pages of installation notes.

Having said that, I have released an Installation Guide that provides a lot more information. It would be possible to use the BAIN installation notes to establish how to do this manually - but then you might as well use Wrye Bash.

  • How do I use Wrye Bash to merge all the Sensual Walks mods?

    • Start OBMM
    • Double click the Sensual Walks Animations Installer to install the animations
    • Double click Sensual Walks for Female NPCs to install the Sensual Walk ESPs
    • Close OBMM
    • Run BOSS
    • Start Wrye Bash v287 or higher (recommend v291, but MUST be at least v287)
    • Click any ESP under the mods tab and press Ctrl-A to select all ESPs
    • Right-click on the selected ESPs and choose Mark Mergeable (answer OK to any messages)
    • Click the Bashed Patch, 0.esp to select it
    • Right-click the Bashed Patch, 0.esp and select Rebuild
    • Wrye Bash will ask if it should de-activate mods - answer "Yes" to this message
    • Click the tick box next to Import Actors: Animations and click the Select All button on the right-hand side of the dialogue (NOT the one at the bottom)
    • Click the tick box next to Merge Patches and click the Select All button on the right-hand side of the dialogue (NOT the one at the bottom)
    • Rebuild the patch.

I can't play without it. One good point is not touch the Player walk.

Suggestion: Installing it using OBMM we have to choice All walking types or one walking type (Pick one option). Any chance to let player choice two or three walking types?

Suggestion 2: Make the normal Oblivion walk an option to amplify possibilities

Thanks for the kind words.

Suggestion 1:
Already implemented - take a look at "Changing the Walk Animation for a Specific Types of Female NPC" on page 5 of the Installation guide.

Suggestion 2:
Already implemented - included in the "All available female walk animations" - use the information above to assign the walk to a specific type of female NPC

The Single Sensual Walks ESP for Wrye Bash users abandoned :(

Some of you may have seen that I have been asking questions about the possibility of creating a single Bash Filter tagged Sensual Walks ESP for Wrye Bash users.

The bad news is that I have abandoned this idea for the moment because there are too many variations in mod masters that use the same name. This would mean choosing specific mods to support rather than the existing system which supports all of the variations. It would also mean that the single ESP would have too many conditions to make it reliable for everyone to use. Finally, I am unsure what would happen if animations were specified for NPCs that do not exists in an individual's game configuration - for example, if Mod A has an SI and Vanilla version and the single ESP used the SI version, I really don't know what would happen if someone used it on a game that did not have SI installed.

The good news is that creating a single mod from all the Sensual Walks mods that are installed is relatively easy. In case anyone wants to do this for themselves, here is the approach I used...

  • Install Sensual Walks using OBMM as usual
  • Run BOSS
  • Copy Bashed Patch, 0.esp from your Mopy\Extras folder to Data\Sensual Walks.esp
  • Sort it very near the end of your load order and before your bashed patch ESP
  • Right-click Sensual Walks.esp and select Rebuild Patch
  • Select the Vwalk.esp mods that appear under Merge Patches, Import Actors: Animations and Import NPC Faces
  • Build the patch and do NOT activate it when done
  • Now open Sensual Walks.esp with TES4Edit and rename the Author to anything other than "BASHED PATCH"
  • Specify {{BASH:Actors.Anims,NpcFaces,NoMerge,Filter,Deactivate}} in the description field
  • Save your changes.
  • Deactivate Sensual Walks for NPCs in OBMM to remove all the Vwalk ESPs
  • Now rebuild your bashed patch and select Sensual Walks.esp under Merge Patches, Import Actors: Animations and Import NPC Faces (may not appear under all of these - depends on your original mods).
  • You now have a single ESP for all your Sensual Walks mods.

If anyone does go through the above steps, please post here and tell me. If enough people are doing this, then I will make a point of highlighting when the Filter Sensual Walks mod needs to be refreshed (ie when NPCs are added, removed or the animation changes) - many updates only include changes that are only relevant for non-Wrye Bash users.

I should mention that I am not doing this for my own game, which has around 50 Sensual Walks mods, because it seemed like too much effort - when all I need to do is double click the OMOD in OBMM and rebuild the patch :)

I had hopes but thought it may be a bit awkward - on my to-do list... going to have a go at your further notes :) ... Though I may be in a very small minority, I wouldn't worry about updating notes considering users adopting this though, personally I am just trying it out of curiosity and agree staying with OBMM for this is better, updating a new esp every time an update comes along (considering the frequency of changes to individual mods supported) would be a pain.

Surazal, what I understand that the OBMM installation method for this mod is better than the BAIN version as that allows one to choose different kinds of walks, rather than the default one that is available in BAIN - is that correct?

Surazal, what I understand that the OBMM installation method for this mod is better than the BAIN version as that allows one to choose different kinds of walks, rather than the default one that is available in BAIN - is that correct?

There are actually two OMODs.

The Animation Installer copies (and renames) the required animation files and does not have a BAIN option and it is the installer that allows you to configure which walks the different categories of female NPCs will use – this is called “Animation Mapping” in the Installation Guide.

The second OMOD is the one that installs the Sensual Walks ESPs. You can create a BAIN archive from the Sensual Walks for NPCs OMOD (also described in the Installation Guide). However, given that it only installs ESPs and WB (v297+) automatically deactivates them when you rebuild your Bashed Patch, I can’t see any specific advantage or reason to use a BAIN archive to install this. The OMOD script selects which ESPs to install based on the mods you have installed and displays a list of the mods it has detected in case you want change which ones get installed – very easy and quick.

Based on this, I decided that it was a good idea to reduce the download size and document how to create the BAIN archive for those people that still want to use WB to install the Sensual Walks ESPs.

Hope this answers your question and clarifies things.

Wow! I`ve just returned to Oblivion after a year away and this looks great. I was always annoyed at how women walked the same as men. Women do walk different- and you have 3 types of walk too- amazing! Never thought you guys could do it. Thankyou and adding to my Mod list I`m preparing.

This has turned into quite the project ... and I just now tried it out.

First off wow the amount of work that must have went into all those patches.

I may have to reconfigure the distribution of walks though as the sixy ones are way over the top. My character is in Windfall and in the castle the servants are swishing around like tranys - then the female guards too .... I understand it is a seat of corruption, but that seemed a bit much.

Hi Psymon

You should have fun with the Animations Installer to tone down the walks to your taste – Real Walks and Princess Walk may be a good starting point for you :)

It did kind of grow over time, but with TES4Edit and some handy paste-ready KF file names I can produce these pretty quickly now. The OBMM scripts are what really took the time, but now they are driven off folder structure and file names – so maintenance has become much simpler.

Hope you enjoy the customisation options as much the in-game effects.

Thanks for the update :tops:
I was wondering though, during the OMOD install it still askes whether I'm using Vilja essential or not essential, but this aspect of the mod was removed (so there's only 1 esp) and you make her non-essential via menu script. Her walk works though :P

A pleasure.

You should only see that prompt if "1em_Vilja.bsa" is NOT present. If you have the latest version of Vilja installed, the installer should show "Companion Vilja v2.2" as the version it has detected. If you are using WB, then it won't matter too much which Sensual Walks version you install.

I just tested it on my setup and I don't get that prompt - have you done something to the Vilja BSA file?

Surazal,

Great work as normal. I'm currently playing the latest version of Vilja (2.3, I believe). I have the latest version of your mod (6.10.1) installed and while most of the NPCs seem to behave as expected, Vilja herself does not (she still has the plain vanilla walk forward).
I know your mod really seems to be very dependent on other mod's versions (I needed to update Better City before I could get you latest version to work. See, I'm learning : ) So, just wondering if your mod will work with Vilja 2.3?

Thanks,

Tarl

I am running Vilja 2.3.2.

When you install Sensual Walks using OBMM, does it show Vilja in the list mods that will be installed? If it does, what version does it list? If you are running the latest Vilja, then Sensual Walks should display "Companion Vilja v2.2" (no changes for Sensual Walks required since v2.2)

If the answer to the first question was Yes, then it might be worth posting your Load Order in case I can spot anything. If you are using WB, please use that to produce your Load Order.

Thanks for the fast reply. I am using Vilja 2.3.2, and when I activate your mod, it does show Vilja 2.2 and I leave it part of the highlight list. I note that it does not add (that I could find) anything like "0FemaleVariableWalk_Thug.kf" specific to Vilja. Is that missing? Probably not, but just thought I'd ask.

Here is my current load list from WB (I don't use WB except to change my load order, so I didn't create any special bash patch). I'll try and "hide" this list, so my apologies to everyone if I don't succeed : )

Tarofgor: FYI - You are supposed to use the words "spoiler" and "/spoiler" to hide stuff in these forums.

Btw, you can go back and edit your post to change "hide" to "spoiler" :)

If you have used the Animations Installer, you should see the Thug.KF file in Oblivion\Data\meshes\Characters\_male\specialanims along with all the other 0FemaleVariableWalk files. If you don't, then there is something wrong with your animations install and you should re-install the animations (double click the Animations Installer OMOD to uninstall and then double click again to re-install.

Vilja (or any of the characters in the Vilja mod) does not use the Thug animation.

I just checked 1em_Vilja_as_Custom_by_Xtudo.esp, which is not included in Sensual Walks. At the moment, the way that your load order is specified, Sensual Walks for Vilja will override the changes that Ztudo's mod makes to Vilja. I will have to think about making Sensual Walks versions for these mods as well - although, if you build a Bashed-Patch, then it is unnecessary.

Having said that, there is nothing obvious in your load order that would cause Vilja to not use the Sensual Walks animation. The animation used for Vilja is more subtle than some of the other walks - are you sure that Vilja is still using the Vanilla walk? Have you come across Heneri yet? If so, is she using the Vanilla walk or a Sensual Walks animation?

Basically, I can't see any reason why Vilja is not working as intended, unless you are expecting Vilja to be using Mur_Zik's sixy walk, which Vilja does NOT do. Could this expectation be the issue you are experiencing?

Finally, I really think you should build a bashed patch (even if it only includes the Sensual Walks animations) - that way, at least you would see Xtudo's changes working properly. It is very easy to do...

  • Copy the Bashed Patch, 0.esp (in Mopy\Extras) to your Data folder
  • Run BOSS to place it correctly in your load order
  • Right-click Bashed Patch, 0.esp and select Rebuild Patch
  • Answer Yes to the message about deselecting mods with the nomerge tag
  • Click the tick box next to Merge Patches and click the Select All button on the right-hand side of the dialogue (NOT the one at the bottom)
  • Click the tick box next to Import Actors: Animations and click the Select All button on the right-hand side of the dialogue (NOT the one at the bottom)
  • Click the build patch button.

If you do follow the above procedure, I would be interested to know whether your problem is resolved.

Hope this helps.

And TarlofGor check out the link in my sig below :)

I am using XTudo's Custom Vilja with 2.3.2 and Sensual walks Vilja anim ... no problems here. She still does the more subtle anim which was assigned to Vilja.

Your anim patch for Vilja 2.3.2 applies to the original esp, XTudo's Custom Vilja is just a graphical replacer for parts of Vilja really. When BOSSed the load order should be ...

~other mods before~
1em_Vilja.esp [Version 2.3.2]
1em_Vilja_as_Custom_by_Xtudo.esp
1em_Vilja Vwalk.esp <<-- Imported into bashed patch
~other mods and bashed patch after~

TarlofGor has the right order but obviously missing importing the vwalk anim into the bashed patch.
