Skyrim is laughably shallow compared to Morrowind.
Yes, it is a better game.

I can't vote in your poll. Erroneous assumption. Not all technical improvements are easy to distinguish from design improvements. And immersion isn't necessarily the end result. Or at least, not necessarily the point of interest of those advancements.

I can't say what Skyrim would be like if running on Morrowind's engine. That's not an easy thing to speculate.

I couldn't vote either, because it is impossible to release Morrowind with today's graphics etc but with its original design. For example, the updated graphics and NPC AI would result in some cities needing to be closed and be their own cells, thus levitation would be gone.......see where I am going with this.

Most likely no, something different is good, but not watered down as to mean nothing to the rest of the series, somewhere inbetween, better customisation of a character would have me fire it up and more balance.
Mage is the only worthwhile type to play as it offers a challenge and it's broke, melee/ranged = OP.

Never really could get into MW. I hated my spells failing and not always hitting with a sword. I didn't give it a real fair chance I must say, but there were some elements (like no diff. slider) that I really disliked.

Because something always has to be better than something else. What does this prove? Welp...Morrowind is better guys, pack your [censored] up and let's go to the Grand Canyon.

Morrowind's combat system was terrible I dare say, but on the whole it was so much deeper, more complex and enjoyable than Skyrim. Skyrim's very pretty, the world's great and all that, but Morrowind actually felt like a world, with its own people and culture and life. By comparison, Skyrim feels like a great game to roleplay in, but you can't help but avoid the feeling that the world inside is just a game. It's graphically more immersive than Morrowind of course, but Morrowind is more immersive in terms of lore and culture, to say nothing of the greater range of mechanics and customisation allowed.

Morrowind is NOT a better game than Skyrim, WTF are these people thinking?!

Take your nostalgia glasses off and you see a bug ridden unfinished tedious game.

I like Morrowind, as it was my first RPG, but there is no freakin' WAY it is better than Skyrim. At ALL.

It would be like Morrowind minus everything cool that made morrowind cool, so it would be lame.

Um, why would I buy I game with graphics worse then it's 2006 Predecessor when I can buy a game that's worthy of being released in 2011. Don't get me wrong I love Morrowind but it just wouldn't make sense so no.
