So at the start of the game i came across a prototype sentry bot, after activating the sentry bot it just did hot laps around the robotics disposal yard.

First i thought, meh, nothing exciting and left it be. Fast forward 100 or so hours i notice a sentry bot stalking me in the distance, i started shooting missiles at it but it didnt react so I ran up to the sentry bot, to my surprise its the same one from the robot disposal yard.

He follows me around like a companion now, when i fast travel he pops up right next to me. I cant command it until i hack him. Wont follow me indoors though, Just waits outside.

Is this normal? Or is this the best glitch ever.

Does it fight alongside you?

I think that bot is very buggy. You are supposed to send him to various places to "protect" (which means kill raiders) but he never really works right. Sometimes he stays in the junkyard, sometimes he rolls back and forth through the entrance of the junkyard, sometimes he gets pretty far down he road and stops and turns around and comes back, and now it seems you have found a new method to his bugginess

I just parked it in red rocket and shut him down. When i want it to follow me i activate him again.
