Sep 7 Diginews Hands On Preview

Hands on preview by Daniel Pelfrey:

http://www.dignews.com/platforms/xbox-360/xbox-360-previews/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/

He mentions having some difficulty reading a book that he found:

I did find a book, one of many throughout the land that will provide information on the lore of the land in the game. Unfortunately the book wouldn’t open and I couldn’t stash it in my inventory.

And apparently he got stuck in one spot and had to reboot:

I found several bugs like this in my time with the game, even getting stuck in a place where the game needed to be rebooted in order to allow me to start over and progress. "

No real new news in it and a decent amount of grammatical errors which completely and repeatedly took me out of the article.

But thanks for the link nonetheless.

Thanks BootySweat. Although the quotes you have provided are kind of displeasing, I'm sure the bugs are fixed by now or are being fixed as we speak.

I am sure that is what they are doing now, just polishing up the game and tightening the loose ends :D

Keep in mind it was a build-in-progress they were playing.

Especially as they have been pointed out to them, hopefully after his hands on he mentioned to Pete Hines the bugs he experienced just in case they were somehow not aware.

@Bootysweat how come you are nearly always the first to find new info..... I am always looking but only ever find old news.

I stopped reading after: I don’t feel that it offered up a revolutionary game play experience.

What happened to reviewers just mindlessly saying everything is good? Like they do for every other game.
Why can't they say Skyrim is amaaaazing and hype it up?

This makes me sad

EDIT: I read more and stopped at: Starting out with player creation, I quickly skipped over it to jump into the gameplay.
I know his playtime is limited but... who wouldn't spend hours making their character!

I was waching some gameplay footage and i noticed that when th giant got picked up by the dragon and droped he didnt do any movements in the air. This would make the game more realistic and give some enjoyment to me. Who dosnt want to see someone get swooped up by a huge ass dragon and not dangle and scream for his life while being droped. Thats pure comedy.

Yup, but the game has been in full development for over 3 years and even started 5 years ago.
I'm guessing it's about a month or so left now before it goes gold. There really isn't much time to left to fix things.
There will be bugs.

It's always nice to read a new article, although it does throw up a few minute worries.

"I just think for the extra price of the collector’s edition (priced at $149, with the standard game at $59) having a “free pass” for all the future downloadable content would be a better value than a statue." - he is completely right in this; the Collector's Edition was a huge let down for me, personally, as I was 100% planning on purchasing it, but for something that is double the price of all other Collector's Editions out there but with no where near double the content it is simply not worth it. A statue does nothing for me- I can see what the dragon's look like in the game so why not give us something we can use and enjoy like the "free pass" he mentioned.

At least this one didn't go on a killing spree as complained in a recent thread.

Oh, definitely. With Oblivion, in the weeks until release they had between 50-100 bugs in the database at any one time. Because when they fixed one, another might pop up. Nature of beast. They will be spending next few weeks bug squashing, bug squashing and bug squashing. Bet they're feature locked now.

Or how bout they give us both. Were paying enough.

I garuntee that all of the bugs are just that. Bugs, to be ironed out in the not-yet-reached Beta stage. I'm not worried at all about them, and everything else was pretty much the generic response from someone playing Skyrim for an hour...

Ah I see

Trying to catch up on emails while listening to Skyrim music. Jeremy Soule is incredibly good. This has to be his best work ever.

An annoying thing about that preview is that he said he wasn't going to regurgitate what others had already said, then he went on to regurgitate what others had already said. He skipped character creation, no previewers had properly messed around with it yet so why didn't he do that and add some original info to his preview? These previewers are so lucky to get to play the game (if only for 20 minutes) yet they still do exactly what they had read in other previews. Why the [censored] don't they go out and try some of the jobs like smithing and woodcutting or mining? they always end up doing the same thing which adds no value whatsoever to their preview.

Thanks for posting, even though the preview was mostly negative.
