separate armor pieces CONFIRMED

That's a load off my mind. the question I asked was "Will Skyrim armor be one-piece or separated into cuirass, greaves, boots, and gauntlets?" and I got "Armor is comprised of separate pieces." I'd still be surprised to see pauldrons but it looks like we will at least have more separation than in FO3, which is enough for me I guess.

That's interesting, I hope it means how you interpret it.

One piece armor sets had been in fallout since the original. Bethesda just did the same thing for 3. Doesn't fit in TES.

Heck yes! I figured it would be, but still... a small part of me was afraid it would be FO3 style.

the funny thing about "what fits in TES" is that bethesda is 100% in charge of "what fits in TES."

That's what I always say when people seem to fear that armor will be like in Fallout 3. Saying that armor will be seperated into multiple pieces doesn't tell us anything really new. What I'd like to know is how many pieces it will be seperated into, and we don't know when Bethesda will reveal that.

And yet Bethesda has never showed us that they feel one piece armor sets are "What fits in TES", so the point still stands, of course, Oblivion had SOME one piece armor sets, but most of these were special armor, like the Arena or Dark Brotherhood armors, for common armor types, they were typically divided into five seperate pieces, six if you count the shield (The others were the helmet, cuirass, gauntlets, greaves and boots.) so the point still stands.

I hate to say this, but technically, fallout 3 had separate pieces (hat, armor, eyewear). I guess its still possible that we might have separated armor, but it will be less chopped up than in TESIV. Maybe we will get "armor" (shirt and graeves), helmet, and boots.

But seriously, making one-piece armor would be a deal breaker for me.

People were worried about one-piece armor sets also because they started showing up here and there in Oblivion, especially in the Shivering Isles, which was the last thing they did before FO3, which had ONLY one piece armor sets.

This thread didn't confirm that much IMO. Still dosent tell me if we'll be getting Morrowind-style Armour pieces.

thats the reason I'm worried - its not jus that fallout 3 had this type of armor, but that it was cropping up in oblivion. it was like they were testing the concept to see if people would freak out. no one seemed to care that FO3 had one-piece armor, so maybe they thought they could get away with it in skyrim (and improve player animations and make room for other features as a result).

In fact, it doesn't confirm anything that wasn't already known months ago.

No, I remember quite clearly that this was confirmed months ago by Pete via twitter. Nothing new here. If he confirmed pauldrons, that would be different.

Actually, I like Oblivions system. Pauldrons would be sweet though, but not more than that. Removing slots now would be horrible...

Proof? I remember seeing them posted here a few months ago. I'm not going to go looking back that far, but I know Pete said something along the lines of "its TES, not Fallout, the armor is separate."

It is not just you.

I don't see why people would EVER think that Bethesda is just going to remake the same game over and over even if they're completely different series. Yes, they're taking some inspiration from their experience with Fallout, but they're not the same game. Elder Scrolls is staying Elder Scrolls.

Fallout has had one piece armor since the beginning. Elder Scrolls has had multiple piece armor since the beginning.
