Separate Velothi & Tomb textures> how?

Post » Thu Apr 08, 2010 2:41 pm

Does anyone know if it's possible to separate out the textures used for the Velothi architecture (city of Vivec etc) from the tomb textures, since by default these are shared.. which means if you want dark, tomby tombs you also have to have a dark, tomby Vivec too, kinda annoyingly.

I'm sure there's a way to do this but not sure how..... would I have to go to every single tomb, and reassign every single interior mesh to a different one (using different textures), or..... what exactly?

Currently I'm just using the vanilla Velothi textures (because they seem right for Vivec), but I miss the gloomy, clammy look the tombs used to have when I used Darker Morrowind's Velothi textures, so it'd be really cool not to have to choose, if at all possible.... ^_^

you could rename the objects with new meshes and add the textures on to those.

Extract the tomb meshes. Make your own/rename darker morrowinds textures to whatever. Use nifskope to assign the tomb meshes with the new textures and save em.

not to mention you will have to make a plugin and replace all the tombs with those new meshes, very time consuming. i would suggest replacing the vivec meshes instead of the tombs, will be much faster. then you can just replace stock velothi textures with that. just be aware that velothi domes and temples also share those textures as well.
