I was wondering if anyone could take me through, step by step, how to separate a Mesh in Blender, assuming it's possible? I have a Building Mesh from Vanilla Oblivion, and even though it is made from lots of pieces, the pieces themselves are grouped-- I'd like to split them in to individual pieces, if possible.
Go to Edit Mode, and start selecting vertices

Once you have selected all the vertices which you want to separate from the others, you need to drag them away, and if there are parts that stretch (meaning that they are still connected to the "others") you need to delete their faces and edges (IIRC, it's X-key → Edges and Faces), and re-make them by selecting the vertices where they should be connected, and press F. It isn't as hard as it might seem.
