I finished the DG quest but thought I read here somewhere that after croaked the boss, Serena would get a shot at being unvamped. I was waiting for some added quest or dialog indicating this ending but didn't see it. Did I imagine that this would be an option after the boss died or what?

Not otherwise knowing what to do, I parked her back at the DG castle where, I expect, she's hanging out now.

Oh, one more unrelated thing, the only way I have found to get bolts for my crossbow is by recovering them from croaked dwarven spheres. Isn't there a way to buy them or forge them somewhere? I'm lvl 53 smithing. Do I need be higher? Are there more and better crossbows somewhere? I have mine tempered up a bit but at lvl 53, it's not nearly what I think it could be or others could be.

1. Talk to Serena and at one point by selecting the rght dialogue option, a new one will appear about you asking her if she wants to be cured. YOU MUST NOT HAVE ASKED HER PREVIOUSLY if you did, she will never cure herself

2. talk to the dawnguard member who is obsessed with the Dwemer, she will ask you to do a quest and after it, you will be able to craft crossbows and Bolts ONLY at the DG forge.

I did dialog with Serena but never got any dialog which I thought could lead to her cure. I guess I'll have to try again. I don't remember any dialog like that in the quest. I do remember I had an option a few times to get vamped but never to cure her of being one. I hope I haven't made an error somewhere and lost this option.

OK. I'll try for that DG member. I hope she's hanging at the castle.

Earlier in the questline, you have the option to ask Serana a little about her family and how she became a vampire. An option to ask if she ever thought about curing herself will show up. If you pick that, she will tell you that no, she haven't, why would she do that.

After killing Harkon and leaving that room (maybe you'll even have to leave the castle), the option to ask her to cure herself will show up again. IF YOU HAVE ASKED HER ABOUT THIS EARLIER, she will say no and refuse to discuss it further.

So the only chance to convince her to cure herself is if you DID NOT ask her earlier.

This is also only available if you have sided with the Dawnguard, but since you obviously have, the option should be there, even if Serana says no.

I don't remember talking about this with her early in the quest line. She's now back at DG Castle and I just spoke to her but no dialog even close to curing or her family or anything. I can't guarantee I didn't screw the pooch earlier but I sure don't remember doing so and I was looking for it.

I wonder if there is a console command reset for this.
