After a whole day yesterday of getting 'serial code invalid'
I am now getting 'serial code in use'.

This is utter BS.

I just purchased the game like 2hrs ago and tried to play online, same issue. When is this going to get resolved?!

Not that I really care what you say, but it has nothing to do with "us figuring it out". There's something wrong with their servers and nothing we can do about it. I have tried all of the "fixes" and nothing has worked.

I have spent 8 hours straight trying to get this game to work. my unfortunate nickname is a result of desperately trying any combination of names and email addresses for 2 hours. Now, I get serial in use any time i try to join a game. Interestingly, this is only on servers that have people, empty servers work just fine.

What a joke. Did nobody test this before release? I want my money back.

there are 2 places you can type in the CD key for multiplayer

First place - at the log in screen.
Second place - upon clicking multiplayer you will be asked to input CD key

I tried repeatedly with all the fixes in the First place. No dice.

Then I tried inputting the cd key with no caps and no dashes. It works fine now.

My only problem is that I have to re-enter the cd key every time I enter multiplayer!

Somebody mentioned that clearing their cookies fixed it, and I lol'd, then somebody else said it fixed it for them too and though wtf and I cleared my Firefox cookies, fired up the game, and it worked first time after I had already been trying many times, so give it a shot!

From the advice in another serial code thread, I was able to get in by entering it on the very first login screen. At the bottom it said 'Valid serial code not found' so I clicked that and then entered my serial with all caps, and manually input my dashes. No spaces. Upon clicking continue, I was able to enter multiplayer with no problem, and no serial code prompting either. I was also signed into this site under the same user name too if that helps the others who cant use the above (clearing cookies, read only folders, etc.). Something should work.

tried removing cookies, setting to read/write, cc cleaner and still have the same issue. does anyone have a fix?

Retail Copy, unchecked read only, running as an administrator, still no dice. Tried using lower case, no dice... come on EA...

I downloaded the game from the ea store, and after hours of trying to get the ea download manager to work I finally got the game installed, and now i cant join any servers because it says serial code is in use. This is really disappointing crytek.

Sounds stupid, but try changing a random letter in your serial number. Doesn't matter which one, just change it to any other letter and it'll work. I just tried it, and it worked for me.

Same issue. I pre-purchased on Steam. I am able to join an unranked "Quick" game but I cannot join any other servers, just get the "Serial Code is in use" error. Also, every time after I enter the serial code then I quit and restart the game, the login page shows "Serial Code Not Found" message and I have to enter it in again. I'm getting REALLY tired of entering the serial number over and over. I've tried in uppercase, lowercase and double checked to make sure im typing it in correctly and still no love. WTF?

Here are 2 fixes that I have found to work, one for steam and one for the non steam version. For the steam Version, go to your games library, right click on Crysis 2, got to properties, click on Local Files, click verify integrity of game cache. Once its done start the game, it will go through the setup process again, and when it comes up it will tell you it needs the product key, put that in got to multiplayer and try it out. If it doesnt work repeat the process, a friend of mine had to do that 3 times before it actually worked. The other fix is for the non steam version its very simple, go to the start button, click on Computer, go to your "C" drive, go into your users folder, go into the folder with your username on it, go into saved games folder, and then Crysis 2 folder. There should be a file in there called game.cfg, delete it, start Crysis 2, put in your Product key and hopefully enjoy multiplay. I have seen both of those methods work, wether they will work for everyone or not remains to be seen. I hope this helps.
