Serious question to all you guys who play as females

Post » Sat Aug 27, 2011 9:54 am

Are you going to get married in the game?

If so, are you going to have your girl character marry a guy or girl?

If you choose guy, will that feel weird at all, knowing that the character you are role playing as and emotionally invested in is marrying a dude in-game?

If you choose to marry a girl, (honest question - I'm not trolling here) is one of your reasons behind that hoping for some hot girl-on-girl action?

Discuss.

I'll make a few girl characters, at least one will be Bi, or a lisbian. But no, it's pretty obivous there won't be any girl on girl stuff.

I won't make a female character, just seems silly to me. And getting married? I wish the devs had put that time, no matter how small, into something that would actually make the game more fun. I'm not trying to be rude, but that all just seems so pointless. Should we add mandatory toilet breaks to help imersion?

I guess it all depends really. I mean I've got 3 chars that I know I wanna make so far and one is a girl. Why I want to make a girl? Honestly, I just think a stealthy female khajiit assassin would just be a cool character. Whether she will marry a man or a woman in-game I have no idea and I don't care really. It all depends on what feels best I guess.

But one thing I will not do is marry anyone other than another khajiit. Not that I have any strong beliefs against it. I honestly just don't think I'll find anyone I'd like my char to marry other than another khajiit.

I would actually get married, most likely to a guy. I play a woman to get a different experience, "live" as someone else. If I only played as a guy, how diverse would that be in play experience? Granted, that is only an RP experience, and not an actual gameplay experience, but the point remains.

My first character is going to be a female Khajiit, she is into the ladies and will get marries to another female Khajiit. My reasons for this are pretty much gpstr said in his first post.

I'll play a few female characters. Their tastes will be.... spontaneous; primarily depending on my whims as a player. With my first character, I'll marry whomever I find fitting for that particular character whether it be male or female.

it's a video game, it's not like I'm about to go have a six change operation.

I intend to play both sixes, so I'll answer.

Are you going to get married in the game?

Possibly - I haven't decided yet.

If so, are you going to have your girl character marry a guy or girl?

Probably guy, but I'd go with whatever felt appropriate for the character in question.

If you choose guy, will that feel weird at all, knowing that the character you are role playing as and emotionally invested in is marrying a dude in-game?

No - my characters do not share my personality or my traits and, if they did, marrying either six would feel equally weird to me as I am an aromantic asixual.

If you choose to marry a girl, (honest question - I'm not trolling here) is one of your reasons behind that hoping for some hot girl-on-girl action?

No. See: 'asixual'.

i did play males in all the other TES games though, since females looked insanely ugly for the most part.

they seem far far better in skyrim, and actually playable this time around (without mods). I'm surprised at how well done the Orc and Argonian ones are, I was expecting ridiculous monstrosities again but got really cool designs (imo).

My Nord female ranger is lisbian but will not getting married. She is a loner, mainly wandering in the wilderness, but she sometimes enjoy the delicate touch of another soft skin on hers ...

She is not very fond of men in general, amazon-like woman.

I play a female character because I just find it more interesting ... and because there is already many games where we are "obliged" to play a male main character (The Witcher, Assassin's Creed, Dark Messiah, Thief, etc...)

And ...

I've always played female characters if it's possible. Not sure why.. more pleasant to look at. I like the fact that women usually look more stealthy and dexterous in games and I like to play stealthy characters.

... This

A few months back there was a poll that asked both whether you preferred playing in first or third person and whether you planned to play a male or female character. After a rather large sample of respondents, there was a striking correlation between the number of male characters with first person players and female characters with the number of third person players.

That's natural, you can't change a (hetero or bi) man's mind. Nonetheless I'll play first person, as a true TES game deserve to be.

I pretty much exclusively play only female characters now, it goes back to an old game where I was told the female had smaller hit boxes and has continued ever since.

My only real motivation to get married in game would be to see what, gameplay value it had. I'd probably only marry another female character and it wouldn't be for 'hot girl-on-girl action".

To the OP:

What is stranger, a male player with a human female character or a male player with a giant bipedal talking male lizard character?

The only concern here is that people cannot leave their real-world beliefs and morals behind in a so obviously completely fictional world that has nothing to do with real life whatsoever. Gender is of no consequence in roleplaying, you simply play the character you want to play. Whatever your gender or preferences may be in the real world has no bearing on what's in the game, unless you like to play yourself. Of course, some people may have less than noble intentions with this, but that goes for every single game and activity in existence as per rule #34, so it is still a non-issue unless you're simply 'collecting data' - In which case i would have to ask, do you really expect people to plainly state they're playing a female character just for some 'hot action'? :P

Well, I romanced Alistair as female in Dragon Age. Not really a problem for me. When I play as a female I don't feel like I am the character, more like I'm watching the character. Sorta like a movie. But I still RP.

When I roll a female and if I found the marriage mechanic at all bearable she will most likely get married to a man. Why not?

lol, same here- hell, I'll ask it- Why do guys make female characters?

in fable 2 it was to check out dat ass

When I entered this thread I honestly expected the OP to simply be the word "Why?"

I have never been able to play a female character. As sixist as it may sound: women don't fit in the role of hero. I don't know why this is. I know that in the real world and in modern times a female has the same ability to be an "Earth saver" as a man. I just can't do it though. A woman doesn't just stop the Oblivion crisis! A woman doesn't just kill a dragon when no one else can! A woman doesn't just FUS ROH DAH!

I know it might sound incredibly sixist. But women simply don't do these things in any story, fiction or non fiction. Joan of Arc is the only case I can think of to the contrary.

Playing as a female thief or assassin character doesn't make any sense to me either. The only place where a woman belongs for me is in the Mage's guild. I don't know why but its the only place where I feel they belong.

Call me sixist, its what I am calling myself right now anyways.

Of course you're sixist, you're a millenium old dunmer who worships Goro. Maybe you're angry because my (female!) hero dealt with the Oblivion crisis and foiled your evil plans!

Im a guy and almost always play a female character (Apart from in ME, Based my shepard of me, hey was the closest i was ever going to get to Yvonne Strahovski : P) For the reason being - I find it more intresting many games force us to play as men hence why i like games with female protagonists like Tomb Raider and WET and like i said im a guy IRL as well so i want to do something a bit diffrent.

I don't know on the marrige thing, it depends on what people are like on whether it would be a guy or a girl like somone said on the first pager Her life will be seperate to mine.
