Seriously, Where's the hype?

Why is it that Beth has been keeping us so in the dark? It's unbelievably frustrating when you're this excited for a game! I want the amount of information we got for Oblivion! Do you think they're gonna keep it low profile the whole way through? Or will they just go crazy with information dumps and trailers in the final days / weeks?

There's tons of video footage, screens, magazine coverage worldwide, interviews, twitter posts, hands on impressions, a massive E3 Dovahkiin billboard...

In saying that, I think we're long overdue for a trailer. I find it ridiculous we're a little more than 2 1/2 months from launch and have only 1 trailer from 6 months ago.

Seriously wtf.

How can anyone own Fallout New Vegas and be waiting on the DLCs, then at the same time think Bethesda is leaving people in the dark about Skyrim?

The past few days, we've seen a flurry of activity. Tons of impressions from QuakeCon and 16 character screenshots so far, missing only three races. We finally got to see Argonians and people are discussing all of the pictures in great detail, getting excited about tiny details like orcs having spiky eyebrows as an option.

What you guys say is true, but we've yet to see any more trailers, and most of the interviews / demos are made up of rehashed information.

I remember in one of the gameinformer videos, Todd was showing the cameras around bethesda, and they showed a room with a video editor set up with an editing station and video editing kit, and todd was like 'This is where we edit the trailers for the game'.

What the hell has that guy been up to for the last six months? haha.

I think that trailer set too high of a bar.

They will never be able to top it with a second trailer.

for example, after watching the Dead Island trailer, everything else I've seen about that game has been a let down. As for Skyrim, even watching gameplay footage alone is exciting, and I can't say that about Dead Island; however, I think it would be really difficult to make a second trailer as good as the January trailer.

gamesas tends to keep as little information out as possible so in case they have to remove something the fans don't get all pissy and outraged like they did for Oblivion when they had to dumb down the radiant AI.

You also have to keep in mind, I think Bethesda feels they released *too* much information about Oblivion last time around. They touted all the expected features of Radiant AI when not all of them were working 100% yet. Then came the time that they had to cut some of the features due to time or technical constraints and people got angry at them for it.

I think Bethesda wants to avoid making the same mistake again.

I would be happy with 1 new screenshot a week. No more information. Too much information and the game will feel pre-played or something. As much as I want more info... the more I read and learn the more I feel like I am cheating myself out of that grand moment on 11-11, where I feel like a child lost in an overwhelming amount of fun, fear, learning and adventure. I mean, it's like "where's my crafting station, because I have already collected all the ingredients I know I need to make this hammer, because I read about it in an interview". Or "Oh damn I just got the flame dragonshout, I was hoping I'd get the whirlwind one". I mean seriously if you know too much it can sort of taint the experience. I want to be "Holy [censored] that dragon shout is cool" and not know all the details.

It's too hard to not look for new info here though. So hopefully the DON'T spoil much more, and just give us one little morsel a week or so to keep us from going nuts, but I don't want to be a walking wiki about the game before it even launches either.

If you guys can imagine this... I never heard of Oblivion. My brother told me about it so the whole thing was new to me. I never saw one trailer or screenshot prior to its release... so that was a huge WOW moment for me. I'm hoping Skyrim can feel like that did. I stayed up til 5am and it felt like 2. I was like WTF dude, it's 5am? How is that possible? It was so much fun...

I would be happier if they quit releasing info. I don't want to know too much. The only thing I need to know is that it is developed by BGS and is an Elder Scrolls game. That pretty much makes it an auto buy. However, I wouldn't mind getting a look at the three races we haven't officialy seen yet.

It would be nice to get PC/PS3 game footage, imo we've seen enough of the xbox version. More character screens would be nice too.
