Server gets stuck in Lobby

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 4:16 am

I have 2 servers and sometimes they will keep players in the lobby past the timer count. When I try to connect with the rcon tool to gl_startGame it syas it can't connect. It takes several attempts to connect then I'm able to gl_startGame and put the players in the map.
Any ideas?

I also noticed this happens more often when the banned list is loaded. Could the banned list be holding players in the lobby?
Here's what ours looks like:

Hey Geronimo, Love yer clan Servers play there as often as i can get in. Good luck getting a response from Crytek about any sort of server admin issues.

Hope to see ya on the server.

True, try your Server provider; they might help faster. I run West Coast (Norcal) Gaming and the same thing happens, esp when time between rounds settings are over 25 sec. I see it happening less frequently lately with tighter settings and with player option to choose map. We run 25 gl_time, 5 gl_initialtime, and 5 g_gamerules_starttimerlength

This really is an important issue for server owners, because a lobby can empty out with the delay.

This is unusual. At West Coast (NorCal) Gaming, provider NFOserver, I don't think we ever had this occur, but most anomalies are corrected with a server restart. Restarts can be costly, because they empty out a server perhaps for hours. I have seen lobby delays, but gl_startGame usually works the first time, sometimes the second time.

What rcon tool do you use? I'm curious.
