Anyone figured out how to set the random scribes you're supposed to escort to "essential"? I just want to do the quests without worrying about the wonderful geniuses I'm supposed to escort. So far they've found raiders, one rather grumpy deathclaw, assorted bugs, and legendary synths. And they seem to wear tissue paper and like to hare off on their own instead of keeping close.

I couldn't figure that one out either, so I just used

setav health 99999 on all of them.

Thank you; I didn't think of that. I made it through the one quest by using the console and disabling everything the scribe ran after. Really, lady, I'm sneaking, undetected, and you run out in front of my character to start shooting at raiders ON THE ELEVATED ROAD you can't get a clear shot at. Gee, wonder why you get killed. Frequently. It took me 5 tries to finish without the scribe dead.
