Setting NPC item to "outfit"

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 2:58 pm

Hey guys,

So, I used console command to swap all of Ysolda's clothes out so that she wears a nice outfit (nocturnal robes :D)

The problem is whenever I come back to the area, she's either in her undies or else in her default clothing.

What I noticed, however, is that her default items are labelled as "outfit" and "worn"

So I'm wondering if anyone knows the console command to set items in her inventory as being her outfit? Hopefully then she knows to keep her nice clothes on!

And if not, anybody know some other workarounds besides maybe creating a macro/bat file and having to manually use it every time I see her?

I think companions (or all npcs?) clothes respawns... and they are tagged unplayable.
Really annoying I hope someone fixes that some day :)

For people wanting to remove their companions armor for good, you can do this without a mod. Do not use removeallitems.

What i did was use console, clock your companion and type showinventory. You then get a list of what they are wearing and the codes for them. I think you can then manually remove pieces by typing removeitem (code) 1. That piece of equipment should never respawn on them. Additionally you can give them items to wear by typing equipitem (code) 1.

I haven't tried this myself... but found it on the nexus.

That's exactly what I did. I told her to

1) unequip item
2) remove item
3) add item
4) equip item

So she had all her normal stuff just not her default clothes, and I gave her new clothes and made her equip them. Still, sometimes she ends up back in default clothes and sometimes in her panties.

Sometimes I feel Bethesda adding marriage in the game was a terrible decision...

I use
equipitem formiD 1

With the '1' at the end, the NPC can't unequip it. So far Ysolda hasn't changed at all on me.

Ahhh a 1 makes it work permanently huh? Thanks! Going to try this next time I see the wench. I mean Ysolda. ><

Just bought the Solitude house, but don't have enough to upgrade fully heh. We'll move in sometime.

Marrying robots that have nothing interesting to say after the first time you met them and accomplished their petty task is too similar to real life.

So, I had better results using equipitem xxxxx 1. When I come home she's wearing the circlet, necklace, and ring. But she still goes back to her old clothes. They just spawn on her out of nowhere.
