Settlement Attacks PSA

Post » Sat Feb 27, 2016 12:48 am

In case anybody else thinks--as I did until last night--that not finishing "The First Step" prevents base attacks. Wrong.

While it may have worked for a while, last night the game forced my hand.

After having listened to Sturges inform me for the thousandth time that he was happy with the defenses, he's good, "but I think Preston may want to chat though"....

No base attacks up to level 54. Then, not sure if it was dinging 55, or starting Hunter/Hunted--Oberland under attack just as I'm reaching the second floor for H/H...

Sigh....well, at least I wasn't deeper in. This is exactly why I avoided this base attack crap up to now. Lucky I even noticed the warning with Gunners doing their thing.

Guess I may as well start these stupid MM radiant quests finally.

For the pros, will the radiants at least be minimal, seeing as I've acquired most of the MM settlements independantly?

MM never had any radiant quests (repeating no ending), these are repeating misc quests until you have enough settlements with settlers. I cannot find any other reason why Bethesda change the quests behaviour. BoS and The Institute, they have radiant quests so long as your on friendly term. If I'm not mistaken, RR also have radiant quests, but at certain stage of MQ, RR stops giving quests even youre on friendly term. You may need to continue the MQ lines. Attacks of the settlements are somewhat random, you never know when the next strike hits even with good defense, while increasing amount of settlements in the name of MM, you may get more strikes in a row.

The main issue I have with the MM quest is that you don't ask for them. It's not like the other factions were they say "Hey you want to do something?" and you say Yes/No/What?/Puppies. No, for the MM is just walking by, or listening to the wrong radio station, or just being in the middle of another quest and then suddenly another quest is added to your list. I swear I feel violated every time.

to answer your question, nope. It is like he is saving them up for you! finished Castle for him, and the requests poured in. 2 at a time with every convo.

somehow I was off patch until like two days ago (steam [censored]*ked up I guess) and those minutemen Radiant quests were a) amazing because they level you quite a bit and b. obnoxious because as someone already stated I was getting two new quests with every conversation. Very glad they changed this to be less intrusive
