Settlement attacks

I'm hoping it's either patched or a good mod comes out to make those announcements more obvious. right now it's easy for me to miss them if I'm all single minded focuses on a task.

I don't get them all the time when a settlement is attacked. Only some of the time. It should def. be more obvious when its happening.

You would think tuning in to Freedom Radio would give ya a heads up-- considering the DJ comes on every so often and goes "Nothing to report".

I've only had one settlement attacked thus far, and I have no idea what they were expecting to get from Hangman's Alley, because I hadn't really touched it yet.

Do settlements get attacked often??? The only real settlement I have (that I have actually worked on) is Sanctuary. My under standing is that in order to raid Sanctuary the raiders MUST cross the bridge, Well, I have wall off all drop off point near the bridge so, when they cross the bridge the only way they can go is forward and they will be met with 3 auto turrets and a guard station housing Preston Garvey.

I currently only have 6 people living their in Sanctuary.

I never noticed a notification, I'll go back to one of my settlements and see bodies everywhere and settlers always saying "Those damn raiders"

1- may depend on luck or RNG but my settlements have been attacked reasonable number of times. Not super frequent but not uncommon. More times when I am not there but have had 4 attacks when i am present

2- as i was there and saw one pod literally pop, can confirm mobs randomly spawn anywhere inside settlement. For sanctuarry one spawn point is other end of bridge, so good bridge defense will funnel and slaughter any attack from that point. But two of my other sanctuary attacks were non-bridge spawns, andd already well inside permiter.

Wont repeat long info again but ive posted my observed spawn locs. Only counter is good lines of fire from turrets placed to ensure all areas covered. Fwiw it took me about 110-124 defense points of all heavy machine guns to ensure every axis of attack is covered by at least 2 and for core areas at least 3 turrets.

With good HMg turret placements, attacks so far without me doing anything but looking have been very easy.

Elevated turrets also have greater range than ground level, but eveb ground turrets have huge range, and they can at least traverse 120 degrees. Maybe 180 but cant confirm seeing that yet.

There is small white writing in the upper left hand corner that says you need to help a specific settlement which is under attack. It's t here for like a couple seconds as far as I c an tell. i think we have about 10 minutes to get there or bad things happen.

I really want them to have a dialog prompt that I have to hit ok to resume the game. Yeah it breaks immersion, but its the only way to make sure I get the message.

which brings up another thing that would be nice to change. You HAVE to go look no matter what your defense is. It c an be so good that you show up and everything just falls over dead. However if you don't show up you will come back to dead settlers, turrets, water pumps ect.

I'd love to see if your defense is at a certain point that the settlement doesn't need you to go look, or just no attacks happen. If it does then I want the warning to be a lot more obvious and something that stays on my screen so I don't easily miss it. It makes me sad if I loose a settler. Though I haven't actually lost one, my husband always misses the warnings and looses settlers and other things.

Does equipping your settlers with good armor and weapons actually help dealing with attacks? I've played 20+ hours and haven't seen an attack so I don't know if that helps or not.

If you are there yes. If you don't go back it doesn't help as far as I can tell.

i haven't noticed any notification on attacks but my settlers starting saying "we sure showed those raiders, doubt they will be coming back" or " the raiders thought we were easy pickings"

I have all of sanctuary walled off except the bridge, which has 5 small turrets, 1 spot light, 1 heavy machine gun turret, alarm bell and lookout station.

I heard that one of your settlers may be a synth. That makes it interesting.
