Settlement Camera Angles

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 10:04 pm

I'm sure this topic has been explored, but I thought I would seek some advice from more experienced forum members... I am having trouble with object placement and getting a "big picture" view in building mode. It seems that the camera is locked to your character, but does anyone have tips on how to effectively zoom out the camera to get a better view while placing settlement objects? I feel like I am constantly having to place objects and then run away to see them from afar in order to determine alignment, etc. I am on PS4, btw.

I know there is a control for zoom on your controller, just don't know what it is! On PC I use the mouse wheel. Let's you move the object away so you can reach 3rd stories or get bigger picture.

Thanks for the reply! I will have to look into it, so far my attempts have involved spinning in circles and accidentally exiting build mode.... Perhaps more research is in order....

I believe it's the L2 and R3 buttons on the PS4, but I'll need to check.

Press down on the touchpad if you are in third person and want to be in first person.

On ps4 if you hold left bumper + x you can raise/lower the item being placed.
If you hold right bumper + x you can movethe item left/right/.forward back.
It takes some getting used to though.
Hope it helps.
